We would have lost, yet another one of the NASCAR history makers and veterans of our sport. He would be missed, just as much as Bobby Hamilton, Sr., Dale Earnhardt or any other driver that has gone before them. But personally, I have not written him off just yet, after all, there is a GOD of this universe, who is still in the cancer healing business !!! I for one, refuse to give up hope.

I think BP is going to be OK. Good or bad, NASCAR lives with death better than most, not like playing football (they never think of it) but it can happen. NASCAR just keeps on keeping on. I would have thought we would quit racing for 2 or 3 years when #3 bought the farm.

It would rank right up there with the passing of Dale Sr.
I really hope that he can pull through this.
He is always a gentleman and has been a great part of the sport.
I have had the pleasure of meeting him and he is just how he appears to be from the broadcast booth.
Prayers and wishes to him & his family.

Yes it's sad to lose anyone regardless of Fame. But Benny still 'fighting' for his life, and let's not put in the casket just yet, and hopefully not for awhile. Get Well BP, our thoughts are prayers are with you.

That would be a major loss for the whole nascar family. We must always think & be postive in a situation like this. He is a big part of nascar & always will be.

It didn't really hit me until that first race on TNT just how much I'd miss BP! But it's just...just different! You're right "Cuein' the Duck" won't be the same. Happy Birthday, Benny!

He is one of the few remaining "Good Old Boys" from the great racing eras of the 50's - 70's. NASCAR is commercial and mainstream now, but back in its early beginnings there was some awesome racing going on!

It would be a sad day, but not much would change.
B.T.W: For all you NOT rednecks answering this question, Parsons is not currently a driver. He is a racing legend who is currently an announcer!!
