What did you do in your free time while in the academy?

I had a good friend that would spend most of his free time, other than dates, working out at the academy's gym or running with a buddy who was also in the academy. He's a super officer, has his heart in the right place. Wants to makes society a better, safer place. He is not just on an ego trip like I see so many officers.

You rarely have any free time while you are going through the academy.

Studied. There was little time for fun and games when I went. However, televison was pr0ovided as well as some guys would bring in board games. Remeber this was the days long before electronic hand held games and cell phones. You used the pay phone to call home.

depends on what year your talking about. Your freshman year downtime will mainly be spent doing misc chores, working on uniforms, gear, knowledge, or studying. After that year depending on your academic load ( engineering youll be studying.. and alot... political sci or criminal justice ? playing video games) but seriously after your freshman year your free time will be available pretty much as you make it. As long as you can keep yourself squared away, you'll have all the free time to do the same things civilian students do when not in class.

Played video games and watched TV. Everything else costs money, which I didn't have while in the academy.

Studied and worked out. Top 10% of the class got choice assignments.

went 4 wheeling and studied-not alot of free time to do anything but study

Study every night, except for friday and saturday night, you need to get out and unwind, and of course behave. But back to studing sunday night thru Thursday night. But you do need to get out and let loose, but just don't let loose too much.

.It is just like going to college. In my case I went home and studied and took care of my pregnant wife and my 3 year old daughter
