I found three airports that fly from UK to Phuket.
Birmingham, Gatwick, and London Heathrow.

I am sorry, but I have never seen a flying airport! LOL, I could not resist that one.
NO, seriously, I think you can find the best deals from Manchester, but be sure that you have a seat belt..a flying airport is probably a rough ride..LOL!

I still think London to Phuket [if possible], would only be seasonal.
You will likely change in Zurich, or BKK, or both.
....and don't ride the scooters without a helmet!

From London you can fly direct from Heathrow to Phuket
via many airlines
