the crudest but quickest way is to just locate the file called 'sol.exe' which is the solitaire game executable and delete it.

but the 'proper' way to do it is to:
• go to start > settings > control panel > add or remove programs
• click 'add/remove windows components' on the left
• highlight 'accessories and utilities' then click the 'details' button
• untick 'games' then 'ok' out all the way to the desktop

the instructions immediately above will uninstall ALL of the games that are installed as part of windows: solitaire, minesweeper etc.

You can delete the executable directly from C:\WINDOWS\System32. For solitaire, the program name is sol.exe. If it cannot be found there, then check the properties for the shortcut assigned in the Start menu to find the correct location. Once you delete the executable, you should also delete it from the Start menu. Just navigate to the entry and hit the "Delete" key. Deletion may require confirmation (i.e. select "Yes" when the popup box appears).

They are easy to remove. To do so follow these steps:

Open your Control Panel
Open Add/Remove Programs
Click on Add/Remove Windows Components
Highlight Accessories and Utilities, then click Details
Uncheck Games, hit ok
Hit next, and follow the wizard to remove all the games.

Open "Control Panel" - Select "Add/Remove Programs" - "Add/Remove Windows Components", select "Accessories and Utilities" and click "details". Select "Games" and click "details". Deselect "Solitare" (or any other game) and click OK.

If you need to do this to a lot of computers, Active Directory GPO should be able to do it for you.

First delete the shortcut from the menu
Then you must erase it twice from your drive. One is located in the folder i386 on the root hard drive

The other is windows\system32 located on the hard drive

If you want to be sure they are gone just search with windows for sol.exe
