The shortest I could find was 15 hrs was with BA and it's not direct.

British Airways have 3 flights a week. They stop at Sao Paolo for refuelling. 15 hours is about the shortest you'll get but at least you don't have to change planes which is more of a hassle. An alternative is to fly via the states and have a stop over to break it up a bit.

I dont see anything direct nonstop. Sorry. The good news is that Buenos Aires is totally worth it! Its fabulous, you should do it anyway.

Why not enjoy the stop in Miami? I think you can get a free stop-over for a few days if you fly American Airlines all the way.
