Its a mixture of oil from the tea- yes, there is oil in tea - and sediments that stick to the oils. YUM, huh? It wont hurt you and matter of fact its probably good for you because the ingestion of the leaf is a good way to suck in more antioxidents. Drink up.

The film on the tea is the essential oil of the tea. You drink some strong tea.

Bad dish washing..... It is usually caused from a film that dried on your cup. If you were to pour something cold in it isn't noticeable but because tea is served hot it dissolves the film from the surface of the glass and you are left with it floating on top of the tea.... Just rinse your dishes well and instead of letting them air dry, dry with a soft cloth..... you should notice no residue. Use the same tea and same source of water and you will notice the difference right away.
