Well, as far as I know, swearing isnt a sin.
Things such as marriage, virginity, swearing etc etc are HUMAN inventions. Think about it, animals dont have these things. Why would it be wrong to divorce someone? I cant speak for what the Christian Bible says but in my opinion it is much less a 'sin' to be true to yourself and divorce your spouse if you are not happy with him/her, than to lie to yourself and stay with someone you dont love.

I see people saying here that homosexuality is wrong, but how can it possibly be wrong? People say gays CHOOSE this but they in fact, do not. Why would somebody choose to be gay when they live in a society where being gay=wrong/dirty/disgusting? Gays LOVE somebody too, and how could love be a sin? We should worry about the much more important 'sins' such as murder, rape, theft etc.
Thinking about 'wrong love' (wtf?) is simply not a well spent area of our time.

Leviticus was a book written to the Israelites (not Christians)...and it was written to them in order for them to understand the laws and the prohibitions of entering and maintaining the land of the Canannites...I would read a goooooooooooooooooooooood commentary when studying the Bible...you are a little out of context when suggesting that Christians follow rules set in Leviticus when you don't even know who the book is pertaining to. There are 11-12 books in the old testament that are History and Literature...This is one of them.
And I honestly don't understand you asking why we Christians don't lobby for the death penalty with certain issues. No Christians I know of lobby death penalty for even homosexuals....or anything at all. Your question is kind of extreme, don't you think? And Jesus did say that it was adultery to divorce other than because of unfaithfulness...this is true and this is a sin when people do it but certainly shouldn't require the death penalty. There is sin all over and none is more greater than the other. Suggesting we lobby the death penalty for remarriage is like suggesting we lobby the death penalty for being angry (yes harboring anger is a sin).

As far as divorce, adultery is a scriptural ground for divorce. And they would be free to remarry. The only other scriptural ground to remarry is death of a mate. Anything else, would constitute as adultery.
We are no longer under the ten commandments, those were given to the Israelites. Once Jesus died for us, he made the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, and the 10 commandments were nailed to the torture stake.
With that said, however, is would be wrong to curse your parents. It would be something you would want to ask their forgiveness if you want to have any sort of relationship with them and have a good relationship with God.
As far as homosexuality, this was also forbidden to the Christians.
There are a lot of hypocrities in the world today, and your right that why should they fight against one wrong more than another.
Fornication is fornication weather it be heterosexual or homosexual. I think it has to do with the lifestyle of many homosexuals (not all). Heterosexuals don't want them around their children, because some are pedophiles. It seems that their whole live revolves around sex. You don't see heterosexuals having straight parades, looking like they are going to a S & M party. It does go against the natural order of things, getting married and having children, the prolonging of the human race. My sister worked over at Disney World for a couple months and 1/2 the people she worked with were gay. I had never heard that gays considers heterosexuals as "breeders". That really made me sick to my stomach. What is the world coming too?

I'm not christian now but I used to be.
One of the reasons I decided to follow a different religious path was that the more I read of the Bible and looked at society the more I found it to be contradictory. I believe that if a person is lawfully divorced and they remarry; since they are not married they should be allowed to remarry if it would make them happy.
Also if "God" cares for all animals, why did he make it so that Humans could curse their parents but animals couldn't? I also find that the bible does not mention that animals go to Heaven/Hell even though they would all have to go to hell because, 1) Most animals change partners every mating season but more importantly 2) Animals can't ask forgiveness for their sins, does this mean that God automatically allows them into Heaven?
One more note, the Bible was written so long ago and has been translated so many times people are bound to have added and removed verses at one time or another, and I have not herd of any person claiming to have been spoken to by God and asking that new verses be added to the bible to accommodate for new inventions and the longer life span of humans and overall modern society.

There were two intentions for law, the the one to show the holiness of God and his hatred for sin (moral unchanging), and the other was to point the way to the mediator, the priest, who would be the propitiation (priestly) payment of sin. The death penalty was to convey how much God hated sin (stealing, homo, bestiality, lying, and the degrees thereof. The morals of the law will never change. BUT the priestly laws that would PAY for those sins have been fulfilled through Christ.
Yes adultery, improper divorce and remarriage is wrong, just as much as homosexuality. But both will be paid for by the sinner either through the death of Christ, or by Hell, depending on if you have been born again.

Yes, a person who remarries after a divorce is an adulter according to Jesus unless that person got divorced because of an unfaithful spouse. This is the only reason a person may get divorced as a Christian.
Cursing your parents is a sin according to God's law and the wages of sin is death. So if they were to get what they deserved then yes, they should be put to death. However, Jesus came to pay the penalty for that sin so that this is no longer required. Jesus was put to death for everyone's sin. He died so we dont have to. All we have to do is believe in him and accept his sacrifice.
I dont object only to homosexuality but to sin in general. The biggest issue I have with homosexuality is that it is not recognized as sin but rather praised and defended as an oppressed way of life.

Yes homosexuality is wrong the new testament say so too.
Yes it is considered adultery to just leave a marriage and re-marry. The only way its permitted is if the husband or wife is unfaithful, or either of them die.
And yes during the Old Testmant days, they didn't have Jesus, so people were often put to death for their sin. And yes a woman caught in adultery was stoned to death, so it was not just cursing your parents that brought the death pentally.
1Corithians 6:9-10: "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God."

The commands from God are absolute. They do not depend upon whether or not many people believe or follow them, nor wether or not governments embrace or foresake them.
In the end, we will all have to answer to God. (Thank God, I'm forgiven by the sacrifice Jesus made for me on the cross!)
If Jesus Christ is your Lord and Saviour, and your first love, then you ought to be compelled by love to serve Him, to follow His commands. Jesus came to fulfill the Law, not absolve it.
In Romans you will also know that we are all sinners, fallen short of the glory of God. We all deserve not only death, but the second death in the lake of fire for eternity. It is only through the love of God the Father that in grace and mercy He sent Jesus to make a way back to Him. On our own, we cannot be good enough, nor earn our way somehow, to be saved from the hell we all deserve.
I believe every single word of the Bible is God-breathed and inerrant.
I also believe that a marriage is done so before God. I believe your spouse was selected by God for you from the foundations of Creation. God hates divorce, but allows it in the case of unfaithfulness. Nevertheless, God makes it clear that reconciliation is desired instead of divorce. I believe wholeheartedly that if a spouse divorces for any other reason, and remarries, then the spouse is most certainly guilty of adultry before a perfect, just, and righteous God.
That said, remember that we are all sinners. The Law was to show us our need for Christ. No one is innocent, except Jesus. Through faith in Christ we all have the opportunity for forgiveness. Just as God the Father has extended grace and mercy to each of us, so to should we, as Christians, extend grace and mercy toward those who sin against us. Forgiveness however is not for the unrepentent...whether the child cursed his parents or the spouse is in an adulteress relationship, the sinner must first repent - stop doing what's wrong and start doing what's right. In those cases, I think love covers many sins.

Have you ever taken a look at the first written code of law? The Code of Hammurabi? It's equally if not more vindictive and retributive when compared to the laws put forth in Leviticus. Aren't you thankful, along with me, that the Code of Hammurabi was not allegedly divinely inspired? If it were, our world would be an even more frightening place than it is now!
Bottom line? There is no answer for the cherry picking that goes on in Christianity. It's madness to think one set of laws are to be held up while another set are to be ignored. Pure insanity, in fact.

i imagine maximum Christians examine the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah and get out of it that homosexuality and performing upon homosexuality is a sin. in spite of the undeniable fact that, the tale honestly discusses gay RAPE. i imagine Christians basically have a not hassle-free time wrapping their head round some thing that "isn't organic" and it "isn't organic" because gay sex won't be able to make children. i don't believe of it really is a sin. i think God loves all his little ones. i think God is pleased with all of his followers regardless of their sexuality. Do i imagine he's in heaven saying, "Yay! Homosexuality is the suitable! Woohoo! Be gay!" No, i do not. yet hell, if instantly individuals are allowed to marry 20 cases then I say let the homosexuals get married. Who supplies a rat's ***? it truly is their "sin," no longer yours.
