Well I think a lot of people listed the man made stuff so for Nature you should go on a Whale watching tour and see the amazing Killer Whales. It is fantastic. Also you can go north east on the Island to the Claquot sound and see the rain forests.

I live in Victoria so here are some tips.
Butcharts is beautiful but expensive
If you light a beach fire the cops will come and make you put it out (and maybe give you a fine)
Whale watching is fun, most of the reputable businesses stay far enough away so it doesn't bother the whales
the empress is not gothic, it's not that old
craigdaroch is pretty fun
don't go to undersea gardens, minature world or the wax museum, they're rip offs
botanical beach is a few hours out of town but if you go at low tide it's spectacular
tofino is great, it's about a five hour drive up island
if you want to see some good hockey see if you can catch a salmon kings game
go up to port alberni and get a guide to take you salmon fishing

Please don't go whale watching. Firstly, it annoys the whales; Secondly, it annoys everybody who lives near the ocean because of the obnoxiously loud engines on the boat. It's nothing but a money-grab from a greedy businessman.

The Royal Museum is excellent for the man-made place.

In early October, see the salmon run in Goldstream Park. It'll blow your mind.

In the summer, head to any one of a number of secluded beaches and make a beach fire (below the high-tide line). I recommend the little one at the end of Newport Avenue beside the Victoria Golf Club. Make sure it's late.

Spend a day out at Witty's Lagoon.

Walk to the top of Mount Douglas for a great 360 view.

Hang out during the day on the rocky beach at Beacon Hill Park at the end of Cook Street.

Walk from Gonzales Hill Park, through Oak Bay, to Anderson Hill Park.

Play croquet in Beacon Hill Park.

This year, on August 12, there will be an amazing meteor shower with no moon. Go to the top of Mount Finlayson to watch it.

See the waterfall in Goldstream Park, then climb up the hill to the train trestle to see it from the top.

Hack up the Henderson pitch and putt golf course by UVic.

I guess that was more than one and one.

Butchart Gardens is a hit among tourists, which would probably cover the human-made place... And for phyiscal place.. hmm.... Inner harbour?? Probably because you have everything... History with the "world famous" Empress Hotel, BC Legislature, then you have entertainment with the buskers on the lower causeway which range from selling items, sketch portraits, to music and magic shows. You also have the Royal BC Museum and London Wax Museum, Milestone's Restaurant... But I don't know if that count's as physical..

There is the Empress Hotel. When I went in November, we saw the British Columbia Royal Museum, they also have an IMAX theater. There is Antique Row, if you like to shop. There is always the Parliment building as well as Emily Carr's house. There is the Craigdorrach Castle. If you want to travel a bit there is the Butchart Gardens! I play to do that on my next visit!

try the butchart gardens over in central sannich, wax museum or the regular museum downtown by the waterfront, for something yummy check out the dutch bakery i think it might be on fort st across from the old eatons center, for some natural places I've always liked cruising the lagoon(thou i don't recommend this at low tide) or go down Dallas rd to the round a bouts and when it's windy you can see some awesome wave action, hike the galloping goose trail(its not intense.... more like a realllllly long sidewalk. and in the late spring and summer check out western speedway for old fashioned stock car racing, hit to pass, and old timer racing. (sorry i know it's more than one of each but there's just so many wonderful things there)

I went to Victoria, BC last year and it was fun. They have the Parliamentary building, National geographic museum and IMAX in it, they have wax museum (it was fun), very interesting lights at night. In front of the Parliamentary building they have shows there doing stunts and magic stuff last they have Fishermans Wharf. They have a mall too and china town. Most of these are walking distance. Victoria is a very small place. Oh before I forget you may want to visit the castles there Craigdarroch (If my spelling is correct). They have Buchart Gardens but you have to drive to get there but it's not too far.

It's been AGES since I've been - I was only 5 or 6 - so I'm not much help, but we stayed at the Empress Hotel - I remember this is being a beautiful, Gothic-style building. That's all the help I have for that type of place - but I really recommend hitting the botanical gardens. Absolutely AMAZING.

Enjoy!
