It is not common, but not a good idea either. I had it happen to me once and found it creepy. Additionally, most women over 25 that shop at Wal-Mart are either married are otherwise involved.
Besides the single's bar scene, if you really feel the compulsion to meet women in a non-alcohol fueled retail establishment, bookstores, sporting goods stores or any other specialty retail store that carries things that you like or are interested in would be a better place to try to meet a woman; at least you know they have some interest or at least reason to be in that store and you could ask them for there help or opinion on something to try to break the ice.

I always get hit on at Wal-Mart. Usually in the grocery department. Weird. Just open up with some funny comment or a question, "do you know where the caviar is?" Accidently bump into them and say, "we gotta stop meeting like this." or, "wanna go in halves on a baby?"

Its is actually common for ladies to get hitted on at any store...I would know...But if you were to go up to a women at a store and approach her in a way of getting to know her....They would probaly think thats the only reason why you came there in the first place...so if i were you I would stick to regular dating...

I'm 25 and have been hit on in all kinds of places. It's cute and flirty. Doesn't bother me one bit. It's hard to find people these days. If you see someone you like, go for it! Course my problem is with the 40+ crowd...Why can't a nice 20 something or 30 something flirt with me?

I met a guy at Wal-Mart once, and it was Valentine's Day. He was pretty cool, and we had a pretty good relationship. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years. So the answer is yes.....anything is possible.

And why not? Just do one thing first. Check her ring finger. No ring then step right up and say Hi my name is _____ have you seen their already low prices? Or something equally clever.
Of course if you work there DON'T DO IT. Customers are customers and not someone to hit on.

ugh. yeah and even before i was 25. depends on how u do it. if she brushes u off then just go away...otherwise she will feel uncomfortable. but dont expect alot of positive response...its tough to know who's a good guy or creep when meeting in store

You are absolutely allowed to talk to a woman in Wal-mart or Kroger....most people don't find their soul mates in a bar...
