Other than fiber, eating a lot of carbohydrates can also cause gas. Drinking carbonated beverages (sodas) is another culprit. Excessive gas is considered a health problem and should be diagnosed by a doctor (even though you'd probably be embarrassed).

it's based on what you eat - if you eat a lot of fiberous food then you will fart more
