Is the "other guy" someone you met on the internet? If so, end that relationship right now!! Focus on your current guy or end it. But do not end it just so you can run to someone else that you don't really know. You could be in for a lot of heartache and misery if you do.
You've got lots of responses from women saying "follow your heart" or "the child will know". Just telling you right now that there is an enormous number of men out there that are with their wives for one reason and one reason only; the kids! They don't want to be part-time dads. So they pretend. And they do a damned good job of it. Sometimes so good that they believe it themselves and they are able to get past the rough patch and recommit themselves.
You should think about that and the level of commitment that they share. Also think about what your answer would be if you didn't get custody of the child. Would your answer change?

Doesn't matter how long you have been with someone even if there is a child involved. If your not happy no matter what the age of the child .....THEY KNOW. So make the choice of you and your child's happiness or a dim 10 year relationship.

If you are in love with another guy then it is time to get out of the relationship. Otherwise, you are teaching your child that the happiness of someone else should always come before theirs.
