I've been having trouble lately with 1st. Christie Premium Plus crackers, they taste like cardboard, like they left out the baking soda or something. 2nd I noticed Habitant pea soup taste very watery & had very little peas in it, then 3rd. the President's Choice 100% Juice Blend taste really weak & watery compaired to Our Complaiment Juice. Has anyone noticed others?

Frito-Lay made french onion dip in a little metal can with a pull-tab top. It was the best french onion dip. I don't know why their recipe was better, but it was always my favorite chip dip since I was a little girl. When I was little I would've eaten it by the canful if my parents would've let me, it was that good.

Then sometime around 2000 or so I noticed it was harder and harder to find. It was getting replaced by the Ruffles brand french onion dip in the glass jar. Ruffles is part of Frito-Lay, so I figured maybe they were just changing the packaging for marketing reasons or whatever. Nope, I thought it tasted like rotten socks compared to the Lay's french onion dip I know & love.

So I was very disappointed to learn that they were discontinuing the cans of the good stuff and replacing them with the jars of yucky dip. If I was lucky enough to find it at some off-beat gas station somewhere, I would buy a bunch of it, or the few cans they had left, because the expiration dates were still really good and they wouldn't expire by the time I ate them.

Then I found out that the East coast states still had the cans, not the glass jars. So I would stock up on it when I went back East to visit family, and bring it home with me. My mom sent me some when she sent out Christmas presents, and now the dip in the cans takes like the yucky stuff they sell in the jars out here. I'm very disappointed about it. I think Frito-Lay decided it wasn't worth it to them to sell quality french onion dip when they can sell typical crud that's probably cheaper to make from lower quality ingredients and make more profit that way.

But have you noticed this is the trend in Corporate America ? Not just in the products being made. It's in the way corporations are treating their employees. More things are being outsourced. People get laid off left and right, as the result of corporate politics. Corporate America doesn't have the honorable values it used to have. We live in a different day & age now. The packaging still says they care, and it probably started out as the truth. It just isn't true anymore these days. They don't really care about anyone anymore except their paychecks and their own families. It's sad and unfortunate. What ever happened to good honest business practices? Real customer service? Real employee benefit & retirement packages for the people who have worked there all their lives?

That's what I think of that.
