Does this mean he does not exist for I'm starting to think the athiests are right. Last a friend of mine says the answer must be no but u would think God would go right out and tell me no somehow. I'm not intelligent enough to see a sign like the Bible says I should.

Your answers don't help very much. U people are not helpful. Yes I've been bathitized. I live in the northwest corner of Iowa so of course I have. Second I am a member of the united methodist christain church.

God did listen to me as a child. When I prayed a tornado would not demolsh my hometown he followed through and didn't destroy it. So why doesn't he speak to me now? Did God make me on purpose just so he could have someone to treat like crap? B/c I do have a crappy life whlie my sibling doesn't. Makes me think God hates me.

Which god?

The Christian god not only does not exist but CANNOT exist in the terms usually used to define him.

A form of Deism is more rational but thats only relative, if there is a god (which I do not think there is) he could not possibly answer your prayers.

I read your question and I read all the answers, sounds to me that they weren't very helpful by just telling you that you don't have enough faith. Maybe you should try praying to a different god other then the Christian one? I find that the Christian God tends to be rather neglectful in answering prayers. Myself, I pray to the Norse Gods. They have only had a handful of worshippers within the last 1600 years. This is a big change from the way it used to be. They haven't had much to do in that time, and I think they're a little bored, you know. So they tend to take a very keen interest in our lives.

There are only three reasons I can think of that are plausible for getting no response: (1) The Christian god does not exist, (2) The Christian god does not want to answer for whatever reason or (3) The Christian god exists but can't answer your prayers because he is not powerful enough. Because of the ontological evidence, alternative (2) and (3) makes him not worth your worship, and it goes without saying about alternative (1).

This is not an evidence against god per se, but rather describes the lack of sense in praying to a god who stands above time (as the Christian god supposedly does).

If god stands above time and created time and space he can not be the first link in a time dependent chain of events. Rather he would affect every step in all chains, and we would only see god in the laws of physics. This god is an unnecessary entity to describe the world and should be removed with Occam's razor

If somebody would pray to god and god would listen, the laws would change to achieve the desired result. Thus the world would be different and the prayer would never have been said. Besides god would already (in an "above time" sense of view) know that you would pray, and already have changed the world. Prayers would be totally meaningless. We would already live in the best world possible, and any prayer would be to doubt the wisdom of god.

Even worse: For every prayer said, god has not acted, or else the prayer had been undone. This means that the more people have prayed, the more bad things in the world have persisted. Therefore, the more you pray, the more evil persist (provided god exists and stands above time).

A much better way to change the world is to do it yourself. Then you would know that it was you who made the world better. The effect of prayers are not scientific provable, whilst the effect of actions are. Instead of praying you should set to work at improving your situation. This is what humanism is about.

God does not always do things in exactly the same way (although many people think so).

I am like you, I have been in Pentecostal churches for over 25 years. Some one has given me 2 scriptures from God, and 2 messages and one message/prophecy?. But on my own I can not say that I have felt Him, heard Him, had a dream from Him or had a prayer from Him. When I tell spirit filled people this they quite often think that I am exaggerating or can not understand "nothing".

I believe in God not from a personal experience but from the evidence I have seen and read about.

If you live in a populated area (I do not) than I would suggest that you go to several different Pentecostal and Apostolic churches in your area and have them pray for you. Ask if there is any one there that could give you a prophecy.

Be strong in the Lord.

God answers every prayer, perhaps just not with the answer you want/expect. If you think your prayer has gone unanswered, it means you need to listen harder.

Don't insult your intelligence by saying that you are not smart enough to see the signs. Everyone is one with god, which means you too have divine wisdom. It's just a matter of tapping into that wisdom. Often it comes to us in the form of intuition.

Take your brain out of the equation. Quiet your mind (through meditation) and listen for the answer you seek. It will come, but be prepared to hear something different than you want or expect.

Maybe you are not listening for Him.
I used to think I would get something if I prayed real hard, but now we are blessed, not given, with our prayers.
People pray for items that the Lord knows you cannot handle. Lottery????
The signs are there.
Recently my wife and I were on agreement that we needed some way of getting over a rough period. Cash.
We prayed and diligently believed we would be helped, one way or another.
Well it is coming through and still is happening.
For starters, the government reassessed my Income tax and sent me a cheque. People are paying back from years ago what they owed.
We are stable and have little worries with many sincere thanks to the Lord.
That's what prayer does.

answers to prayers depend on a few factors, the most important being your relationship with Jesus Christ.
Jesus is God.
if you are "born again" in His blood, you
can talk with Him like you would your best friend and He will hear you.
John 3: The Words of Jesus Christ (God in the flesh)
3. "Verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God."
4. Nicodemus saith unto Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?"
5. Jesus answered, "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God."
6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."
16. "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18. He that believeth on Him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

You already know the answer to the question of God's existence. We don't need to pray to know he is. Also, God answers the prayers of his children and the prayer of repentance. If you are not a child of God, there is no reason for God to answer you, but rather, his wrath abides on you. Repent and turn to God that you may live.

It may be that the time isn't right. It may be that God in his infinite wisdom decided that what you asked for was not in your best interest. We don't always get what we ask God for. I have learned to trust Him to know that he has my best interest in mind. Other prayers just take time. God's time table and ours are not the same. I hope this answers your question.

Are you part of his family? Are you baptised to come into His family. Do you love Him above all things. Do you pray for the needs of others? Do you fast? Do you do penance? If not Then I understand Why Your Prayers do not get answered, He does not know You.
