Bleaching in itself is not a substitute for dye. You'll need to go and buy a blonde to put over that. But because your hair is now orange it might still be a little off color. Bleach also causes a bit more pain than regular dye, I think that may be because it is stronger. Though I dye my hair a lot and now notice my head has become much more sensitive to dye. It burns almost all the time now (which makes me worry about my hair falling out).

You may want to check with a stylist in your area to see what they think. But I would wait a few weeks and dye it light brown or a dark blonde. Make sure you wait or else you will really know what your scalp being on fire feels like! It will also severly dry out your scalp leaving you with massive dandruff and flakiness.

if u bleached it urself find out what the brand was u used then go to a salon and tell them what happened and have them make u bruneete r even a nice red shade as it is going to be a huge colour choice over the next year.ask for a semi permenate colour not permenant as u will end up back where u started BLACK!u had a build up of colour from the past few years that even with the strongest bleach it will lift it but fry it at the same time, if ur hair goes through any more lifting it will snap off!trust me i know it happened to me im the first year of hairdressing and i see it all the time u need to get an all over healthy colour and do treatments for the next few months to build the strenght back up in it the add some highlights for a lighter shade maybe in the summer

As for ur scalp.it has happened to me too.whenever u get ur hair done in a salon be sure to tell them u have a sensitive scalp from now on they can cater for ur needs better and recommend at home products to help u with it.for now use only sensitive shampoo's and conditioners. Also when u have washed ur hair comb with a wide tooth comb not a brush!either alllow to air dry r dry on low height not too close to the scalp.

Did you use on the scalp bleach? Thats because there are undertones that hair goes through in the lifting process! I would use a toner or fill the hair and go darker with an acid semi-permanent color! It hurts because of bleach burns! Anyother questions ask! I could write a book on the reasons this happens! Definately seek a professional stylist to provide you with a corrective color!

it sounds like you may have done it yourself or went to a really bad hair colourist. new hair technology should not be burning you if done properly. also, depending on the levels of dye in your hair, a responsible hair colourist should have advised you of how light you can get your hair. the best thing to do is go to an aveda salon and book with a senior colourist. it may cost more but but it is your best option because they use natural hair colourants that are more gentle. whatever you do, do not use henna as it will make your hair worst even though it is a natural product. it is every colourist's nightmare. a good colourist can work with you to get a colour that looks natural and healthy. you can also work with them to get a colour regime going to know how and when you can get the colour you wish to acheive. for now, use a gentle shampoo so that it will not irrate you and use a very intense conditioner.

You should definitley stop trying to color it on your own and go to a professional. Your hair is probably really damaged, as it is hard to go from very dark to very light without a pro's help! You may have to drop a considerable amount of $$, but in the long run, won't it be worth it?? Plus, a pro can give you tips on restoring your hair! Good luck.
