The peace you feel inside is a good gauge.

It's impossible to say precisely, because I find that I always learn something very valuable during a Spiritual storm, and when I feel it might be blown over, and I relax a little, then it comes back, because God has more to teach me.

You might not understand this, but I find myself thankful for my Spiritual storms. They are so valuable! I learn alot of who God is, I learn how to listen to Him, I develop endurance.

So, during this storm you are experiencing, hang on tight to God, spend extra time in meditation, reading the Word, and praise Him. Rejoice that He is in control, and that He has some things to teach you.

When you receive the ultimate peace, you will know it's over. Key is, don't forget what you've learned. God makes us repeat and repeat until we get it right.

I just went through one that lasted 35 years....so, how long these storms last is tough to guage. Generally speaking, if you are experiencing spiritual growth on a consistent basis it would seem you've weathered the storm.
Then there is the issue of a spiritual death and rebirth...often found or experienced after a deep self-psychoanalysis.

You would need the spirit of discernment.
Some times when we pray for something, things seem to get better and than we stop praying. Only to have the thing come back. Satan was not totally defeated but only lost some control.

Keep praying longer and give God the praise and see if you will feel a freedom (release) at some point.

The Holy Spirit will give you the confirmation, you'll feel it inside, like a peace within and you'll just know that whatever your going through is finished.
