In responce to one of the answers, receiving the holy spirit IS mentioned in the bible.
I've went to a pentecostal church for 11 years, not too mention traveled to many other pentacostal churches as well, coming into contact with hundreds of different individuals who attended..........and not ONCE was it taught or even thought to somehow ignorantly act like we had something in us. How foolish would that be?
Is the holy spirit real? You better believe it.

That insanity that you described is NOT receiving the Holy Spirit, it is an act, and scares the crap out of me, this type of fanatics also handle poisonous snake and stuff like that to "prove" God's power. It is a buck of showmanship, and I thing that God is displeased with that. God has instructed us NOT to test Him.
