In time the fading of the first love will eventually lessen and then you will have the ability to love once again. Getting over the hurt is the first thing on the priority list before you actually get involved with someone else. The memories of your first love will always be with you. Time heals all wounds.
You can and may truly love again.

YES! Your first love will always be just that... YOUR FIRST LOVE. And you will probably always love him. The question is.... are you willing to put your life on hold for something that happened in the past. Move forward. Once you find the right person, you will see how easy it is to give your whole heart to someone else. Don't worry if you think about the other person, it's normal. Who wouldn't think about the person they shared part of their life with. If you think this is going to be a problem, don't get involved with anyone, until you get some closure from the old person.

Yes because each love is different. You can not let the loss of one one prevent you from finding love or happiness elsewhere. Think how many ppl actually stay with their first love... What a lot of lonely frustrated ppl there would be out here if we could not have loved again.

Yes, but you'll have to find a way to get over your first love as hard as it is. But if you put your mind to moving on, and don't think about him all the time, etc you can do it. It just takes time and energy and will power.

This is common. When you find your real man, you will realize how lucky you were not to end up with the first one. Your personalities don't mesh as well as the second love. You have to believe this, and only when it happens will you be grateful.

you can because regardless what is said you'll carry a spot in your heart for all that you love. The important thing is not to dwell on whats in the past. Learn to let go move on and focus on what you like about whomever it is that you may start seeing.

If I understand you correctly, I will agree with you that we only truly love once in our lives. But, that said, that is not to say that we cannot find peace, respect and support with another.

Been there. I guarantee that if you hook up with your first love, all the things you think were so perfect will be coldly imperfect and then you will realize that it's time to let go and start over.
