Well me and my good friend (Nikki) got this part time job as hostesses at this restaurant in our area. Well because I guess we got the job at the same time, always hang out together, etc, the on manager (we had three; the other two were professional) would start asking if we're lesbians. We'd say "Oh no, I actually have a boyfriend---she's single." And he still cotinued to actually call us lesbians and gay during lik every future shift. He'd even talk about this with a few other employees right in front of us and sometimes behind our back...one time the manager told Nikke: "You are never gonna get a b/f if you always hang out with her" etc he always said to everyone "oh I think this girl is in love with Summer." We told him it made us uncomfortable and the next dat he continued. So we both quit---at diff times---and I called the same restaurant just a diff location. She said to call back and tell the GM Wednesday morning. Well here it is...should I do it? When I told my head managaer..

...Larry that we were gonna get a lawsuit against him etc (this is a few days after we quit), he said "Pfft, you girls have issues!" and walked away.

I cant believe he said we have issues. Sexual harassment is big in the workplace and should NOT be going on. Should I take action? What do you think about him telling us we have issues for this?

if you were driven to the point of quitting due to the comments he was making your best bet is to call your g/m and local labor board. They also have toll free numbers within ANY company for you to call to report this. Make sure you document what you can remember dates times. have other employees write up statements as well If you intend to WHICH you have a decent chance of at least getting the chump fired you need to go in there FULLY prepared to follow it through.

Has he been doing it to you lately? Statute of limitations could have passed, and I'm not sure how things work when you are both minors. Now being a minor doesn't stop you from filing charges IF he was still doing it to you. Try talking to the other girls and convince them to go file complaints with the school. If the school gets enough complaints they will talk to him, and if they can't take care of it THEN take the matter to the police. It IS sexual harassment, and he clearly isn't a nice guy if he is taking advantage of girls like that.

If you file charges then most jobs will not liketo hire you because they will see that you are willing to do that and may cause them money as well rather you are right or wrong. If you honestly in your heart feel like these coment damaged you and you will never be the same then yes file. But if you are doing it just to get back and because your pissed off dont you will screw your self in the long run. Besides it was a part time job with probably **** pay.

You should press charges against your manager. After you have told him that so many times, it seems like you have had your rights prevoked. Do you actually have proof, like a tape recorder or anything relevant, that your manager said that? It would give you a stronger case, if you did. However, you definitely should sue him for doing that, otherwise, he'll continuously do it not knowing he did anything wrong. I believe before you do anything, you should ask a lawyer about this issue to make sure you're not embarressing yourself at the courthouse.

Good luck!

This guy is no professional, by the way he is acting towards your friendship. He has no right to get involved in your private life and must know his limits with the employees. You should file a complaint against him, so that future females don't go through the same ordeal as you went through. Sexual harrassment is punished by law and nobody has the right to judge your private life. Good luck...

You should definitely pursue this. The GM of the store you worked in has surrounded himself with abusers like him. The only way to get rid of them all is to make sure they are reported.

Start with the GM from the other store and then call the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). They will help you get a case started.

Take care,
Troy

Call the corporate office right away. Both managers are creating a hostile work environment.

You need to look up the legal definition of sexual harassment. I'm a GM, so I know.

You have reported it to the higher ups so yes, now the next step would be filing charges.

Personally I would suggest you contacting their corporate office in writing... you will need dates, specifics, and witnesses to support your claim. I also would contact an attorney and tell them see if they feel you have a case.
Good luck!
