It's his girlfriend who is the loud one. And it just so happens that my neighbour is my nephews' godfather's brother, so he's practically related! And we BOTH own our places, so it's not like anyone is moving anytime soon.

Knock on the wall really loud when she starts moaning or whatever. They will know that you can hear them & keep it down. Hopefully. Good luck :)

Leave a note on his door (NOT anonymously, say who you are), saying "You might not realize how thin the walls are in this building, and that they don't provide a lot of privacy. I'm sure you wouldn't want me to know as much about your love life as I unfortunately do. If there's any way you could keep the noise down, or perhaps play some music, I'd really appreciate it."

If you know the layout of his condo, would it be possible for him to move the bed to another wall, not the common wall between your two units?

If they don't do anything, move your stereo so the speakers are pointing at the wall and play something thumping and loud when they're getting it on--not to drown them out, but to make the point of how thin the walls are.

Don't embarrass them then and just say hey man you all never sleep I can hear you TV on all night it keeps me up. At this point he may share with you it is not the TV and then you can joke a little about it but ask him to let you get some sleep. You do not have to be specific on the noises for them to quiet down then there should be no hard feelings.

People know they are loud, but sometimes it helps if they hear it from someone else...sometimes they just get caught up in the moment. Talk with them about it. Just a quick conversation is all that is needed. I am sure they will quiet down when they find out, and you should not feel embarassed, just keep in mind that they will probably be more embarassed then you!

We used to live in an apartment below a couple who were very loud. We laughed hysterically and clapped as loud as we could when we heard them. They finally got the point. It only took a few times.

You both own your places, have you soundproofed your room or tried earplugs? Turn on music or something else to drown out the other sounds, maybe? Not what you wanted to hear, I'm sure.

Get a modestly sized basket. Fill it with paper grass, as if you were making an easter basket. Get a bunch of small adult novelties, lubricants, etc. Arrange it as nicely as you can, wrap it in plastic, etc. In short, make it look as absolutely beautiful as you can. In perfect sincerity, offer it to them sometime in private, smile and say, "I was thinking of you, from the sounds of it," pause and wink at them, "you two can really use this!"

Trust me.

They'll get the hint.

If that doesn't work... get a tape recorder. Record it. Dutifully record the time and date on the tape. Leave the tape on their doorstep.

Ask him to turn down the loud "music"--"some woman with a loud voice, I don't know who it is"--that he plays at night. Maybe they'll soundproof the room or something.

I know that when my wife's neighbors high-fived and congratulated her after a particularly loud night, we did what we could to tone down the volume!

When you hear them, start yelling things, such as suggestions for what he should do to her. They will know that you can hear, and probably get kind of embarrased. I am guessing that would be more motivating than simply knocking on the wall.

next time you here them ,turn on your radio and sing and they will get the message ,then wait a few days and talk to him about putting up sound proofing walls if you both split the cost it will not be so much .. i would check with the fire marshal ,,.don`t condos have fire walls between them?,that act as sound proofing
