What did your parents tell you......?

My mother told me.... To never hit girls.... Always be poilte and never pull a horrid face in case the wind changed and it stayed that way.... And that there is someone made for each and everyone of us.....

My dad told me..... To never hit first.... To always be honest and Speak my mind....To help defend those that are weaker than me ..... and a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.....

dad had 3 rules:
1. do not lie
2. do not steal
3. never disrespect your mother

While my parents told me a lot of nice things, they did not usually follow their own advice. My mother was abusive to me and after the divorce, my step-mother was emotionally abusive.

My father was often not home, as he traveled for work and when he was home he added to the emotional abuse.

I learned on my own that the way that I want to be treated is with love and respect. I decided that I would treat others with the love and respect that I desired.

All of the things mentioned in this question easily get covered when you treat others with love and respect.

Perhaps being abused helped me to become a better person, but I do not recommend that anyone suffer from abuse.

My mother told me to be aware of my surroundings as it was not safe in this world, to always, ALWAYS use lotion, and to stay down to earth, as i may be great, but there is always someone out there who's greater.

My father told me i will reap what i sow, that i must always value education, and that a radiator leak can temporarily be plugged with pepper.
