Jane, your link is not available in my area. Leads me to believe this is also some tracking media. Please for anyone else who wants to click on to it, beware.

Buy the hp M527 its not the best but for a point and shoot its a good camera. The Sony has some problems that they need to resolved on the dsc S500.

I'm not finding the Sony DSC S500, but I see the S600 on a couple of sites. Maybe the S500 is last year's model???

Sony DSC S600:

There are not even any owner opinions on the HP M527. It must not be a huge seller.

I don't know much about either camera, but on name recognition alone, at this level, I think I'd take the Sony.

bypass with a important sort...i.e. Nikon, Olympus, Canon, Pentax, Kodak easyshare line of component and shoot fashions and so on. all of them are good high quality cameras. don't be fooled with tips from getting the digicam with the utmost megapixel score. you're able to be able to wind up getting a digicam that has 6 or greater megapixels notwithstanding it is going to possibly no longer have a zoom lens on it it relatively is effective sufficient to healthful your desires. i'm a consultant photographer and that i advise you come across a sort digi cam that has a minimum of 6+ megapixels and a zoom lens it relatively is a 4x or greater. that ought to provide you greater then sufficient zoom power to get the photos you will attempt to get. in case you opt to tug out each and all the stops.....then purchase your self a Nikon D2X yet be arranged to spend $5000 purely for the physique on my own. A lens will value you yet another $1500 minimum. good success
