I don't necessarily "hate" it - that is a very strong word. I feel the same way about Islam as I do about every religion - it's just that - a "Religion". I have always held the belief that religion is a title given for the worship heading - to "tell us apart", so to speak. Catholics believe one thing, Lutheran's believe something else, and Baptists believe yet, something different than the last two. Just another way to stigmatize us and separate us from one another. Spirituality is completely different than religion, wish people would get that on all levels.

However, there are extremists in every "religion" just as there are in every land & culture. So, I have nothing against Islam, per say, but I do have something against those who believe anyone who is not a particular sect of Islam (extremist) should die.

I take issue with extremists, not particular religions. When something goes so far to stifle the general human rights of others, that is when it becomes an issue for me.

I am Christian, and I do not believe in killing for sport, although that is what non-Christians like to believe and spread that belief to others. I do not hold true to the double standards anyone can find in any religion, so I also take offense to generalized statements which hold little to no truth at all.

Ignorance & intolerance is the real issue, no matter what the topic.

Well

THE BIG THREE

The Jews are on their own, they trust no one and conceder both Christians and Moslems bad people (if they believe it all anyway)
The Christians consider the Jews part of their religion, they worship the same books. But they don't like the Moslems.
The Moslems consider both Jews and Christians to be people of the book.
so the Jews hate everyone. The Christians just hate the Moslems and the Moslems love everyone!

THE BIG CHANGES

but just like the Christian church, Islam has manipulated the holy text for personal and social integration of religion into its society. The Christian church believes that un-baptised babies will go to hell (or is it purgatory) Jesus did not say anything like that. Just as Mohamed didn’t say stuff like, you need 2 men or 1 man and 2 women to agree a contract, just encase one woman forgets what she signed. (By the way, the introduction of personal and social contracts into religion was a great idea)

Because of the rise of civil liberties in western countries, we have turned away from mass conformation of religion to a more personal ethical way of living.

Islam will do the same given the time. Women already want the right to pray with men in one temple (all I can think of is mosk!!).

The Torah is so old no one knows what really happened back then, accept the records of the Egyptians, which normally contradict events in the bible.

THE CRUSADES

Although Islam states that you should respect and welcome people of the book, when a load of people are taking your land and you money (right up to the installation of Sadham by the US and UK). People will be pissed off and start to fight back. I can understand they think they are still happening.

SWAPPING PLACES

If every Christian person swapped places with all Moslems, would the world be any different? Probably not.

CONCLUSION

Religion sucks and is the main cause of death and suffering around the world.

People who hate Islam are people who have not seen its many good sides. I respect it becaus I believe so many parts of it are true and aiming for peace. I don't believe what I am told in the media, I have lived with people from all three monotheistic religions and Buddhists and Hindus, and there are good people from every religion. Islam seems to be the most believable when studied, however. The Qur'an does NOT say that any non-believer should be killed, in fact it says all people should be treated with peace no matter their religion.

A small percentage of Muslims are radical fanatics, but that seems to be the only side of Islam that Western media portrays. I know so many kind, honest, wonderful Muslims trying to make the world a better place. I for one do the best I can to love people and be a good person. Whatever your religion, be a good person, and that's all that really matters.... Have a good life ppl. Love ya,

First of all, the fact that you have lumped Jesus in with these profits is what offends people. You did not even give him top billing. Jesus is the son of God, not the son of Alah, the son of God, who was sent to die for the sins of all mankind that they may be forgiven if they believe that God sent this sacrifice for them and ask Jesus to forgive them, no matter who you are,or where you live. Your Alah and God ,with all due respect sir, are not the same intity, a fact that urks me to no end is the media asumes they are the same because they believe in neither. I have done some home work on islam and am not versed enough to engage in a debate without looking foolish.
NO OFFENSE but I think Mohammed is the false profit the bible warnes about. I think it is verry currious that islam is the fastest spreading religion in all of time. Mohammed and his followers rode from village to village offering the people an oppertunity to convert when they did not they were killed their village was burned their woman raped. If any man woman or child survived they would surely need to find their way to a new village, where they would assuridly warn the people that Mohammed was coming!!! How long do you think it took for word to spread? Iguarentee it spread faster than possible transit. Religion of peace pfff. Please how are you able to discern when to use peace and when to "smite them at their necks" I fail to see how the supreme diety is cappable of the contridictions found throughout the religion. Where is the love? God is love.
I hope as your question stated you will not be offended by my honesty, I do not hate musslams , i fear they hate me. I respect their adherance to their beliefs and laws. As a christian, I stuggle with sin and know that we are allsinners, if we weren't God would have not needed to send Jesus. Why are not all followers of islam as tollerant and respectfull of christians and their right to believe what they believe as you are?

I think Islam has its beauty as well as its weaknesses, like many organized religions. Of course it's not your everyday good muslim who is involved in the problems we see in the media, but Islam seems to be an easy target because it tends to be a very visible religion i.e. hijab, current wars...To be honest I think there is a lot of ignorance in the West about the religion and its beliefs. Your everyday person who may claim to hate arabs or muslims usually wouldn't be able to tell you what it is about the religion or culture that they feel is wrong. Or if they can, it's often based on a mistaken belief. It's all very sad and more people should try to seek a larger understanding and respect for others, as you are doing. However, be careful not to stereotype on your side either, i.e. "you people"

This is a difficult one. No, they do not have compatibility into the violations that the majority have obtained. I had an account suspended due to the fact that anybody requested approximately Yahoo curtailing unfastened speech and that individuals who replied questions falsely, must they be charged with any harm performed purpose by way of the misguided reply. I went on a small rant announcing that when you took clinical, laptop, economic, and many others., recommendation from the individuals on right here critically with out another study, you are an fool. Plain and practical. Well, that acquired me suspended. No earlier violations or whatever. Do they have got a correct to try this? Yes. They have their instructions, thoroughly retarded that they could also be. Does this cross towards their Mission Statement? Yes. Everyone thinks of Yahoo as this a laugh location to be and do a laugh matters, except, you are on Answers. Then you will have a totally algorithm, trolls that seek for individuals to prohibit, and I do not even desire to remark at the "individuals" who overview the pleas not to droop bills or reply why you obtained one other violation. Final concept? Yahoo is not the joys location they make it out to be. About as a laugh as Auschwitz in the summertime such a lot days when you have a humorousness and check out to exhibit it on solutions. My account will more commonly be suspended the following day and you are simplest making my factor.

Muslims/Islam has had bad press in the UK over the last 12 months or so because of the bombings in London in July 06. Fanatics exist in every religion, but i think that there are many muslims who have radical political views, but hide it behind religion. I have worked with many muslims in the past, and have respect for there rligion, as i do have for jews, sikhs, christians etc.
What i cannot stand though, is people who are hypocrits. I also find it hard to understand a question that was asked by a TV presenter in the wake of the London bombings. He was with a group of muslims in Birmingham, and asked 'do you consider yourself to be british, or muslim?' Since when did a religion become a nationality?
Respect is a word that many people tend to forget. e should all respect other peoples views, religions, and lifestyle. If we did that, the world would be a far happier place

Good question - thanks

I was not born into a Muslim family and did not grow up Muslim.
I grew up in a multicultural city in Scotland and went to school with, lived next door to and was friends with many religions, colors and denominations Christians, Protestants, Jews, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Catholics.
I grew up knowing lots of Muslim in fact 40% of my class where Muslims.
As neighbors they would invite us to join celebrations weddings, births etc and where always friendly and open. I love the fact i grew up and experienced many different things. the girl upstairs put on her white dress for her holy Communion, that we would see tinsel on cars at Hindu weddings, that we where all Friends as well as neighbors. My mother was even friend with a Sikh man since her childhood and i always referred to him as uncle and loved him dearly. So as you can tell growing up the way i did i never for one second that everyone did not grow up like i did and know lots of different cultures and faiths. I could not understand how people could hate a whole group of people but never actually knew any. Strange.

I had a Friend 3 years ago who was Muslim and one day got into conversation about the religion. It sparked my interest as a lot of things he said where the opposite to what (I) thought Muslims represented. So i went out and bought a Quran. When i read the Quran I cried. I found so much beauty, respect and honesty I felt God had opened my heart and I coould not turn by back on Islam after it was revealed to me. I desided to become a muslim. I was supported by my parents and adjusted to a few changes in my life easily. And have never looked back.

I just hope people will see the real Islam and stop believing the media rubbish. Its simply not true and any muslim knows that.
My opinion about islam? Its the true path brother and i am the happiest, safest and most at peace i have ever been.
Insha Allah brother you have a good year.

I studied it in high school. The main problem I have with it is that the Koran contradicts itself. For example, in one place it says that Jesus was a wise prophet and his teachings should be followed. But, then in another place, it says that there is no such thing as a Messiah and anyone who is not following Mohammed's teachings is an infidel and should be killed. So, since Jesus claimed to be more than a prophet, he claimed to be the Messiah, so it's a contradiction to say he's wise, and then say he lied about who he was. And, don't even get me started on the Koran's position on women! It's like Muslims totally forget that Mohammed got his start as the younger lover of a female business woman (trader). Ugh!

my opinion about Islam is same as yours...I also believe on all the prophets and the books they brought...so i do believe on Moses, Jesus,Isaac and for sure Mohammed. I feel the books are from god you can not change them, its only Him who can change ...so he the God, send many books, including bible and quran and quran is Hi's last book so far, you can say quran is the new and last edition of the books from quran and old editions are good to read but to follow we have to have last law and ruling to be follow.
and for me all the religions are came from same source and for same purpose to give you inner-satisfaction and peace.
if Muslim pray 5 times its only for their own satisfaction its nothing to do with others. for me religion gives you moral support and encouragement, no religion teaches you bad.
as far as i know in Islam...if you kill one innocent person , you are no more the part of Islam. killing one person means killing whole humanity. Now if you will call terrorists a Muslim then its wrong....its completely wrong. No Muslim is allowed to kill innocent people. yes self defense is the basic and important right of every living human being. so for me Islam and all other religions are peaceful. yes there are few super powers who are using religion to make their kingdom strong. USA is a clear example of that.
