Foodwise, I'm violently allergic to:
1. all poultry meat - the worst by far
2. much seafood - calamari, mussels and probably oysters too (not brave enough to try) and certain types of fish like sole
3. certain nuts - pistachios and cashews
Also: some unknown foods (probably additives) which cause similar symptoms.

All result in severe upper back pain, mouth watering and nausea within minutes, and can last up to an hour. Occasionally vomiting - all symptoms disappear quickly after vomiting.

I'm also severely allergic to cats - short and long-haired cat hair gives me big puffy red eyes, and cat scratches makes the surrounding skin swell up immensely.

I also get chronic hay fever from pollen if untreated. Currently using nasonex (nasal spray) which has eliminated it.

I don't know anybody that has allergies like mine, I've been told by my GP that they're common but I don't think so. Is this known? Are there any other things which I could be allergic to?

Yes, unfortunately, it is common to have multiple allergies, and it is possible for you to be allergic to other things as well. I am allergic to all the usual environmental things like dust mites, pollen and mold, plus cats, plus celery, chicken, potatoes, tomatoes, kiwis, and I'm lactose intolerant. If you haven't already, see an allergist and have yourself scratch-tested for all the usual culprits, that way at least you'll be informed.

It's good you found that Nasonex works for your nasal allergies, my kids use that also and it works well for them. For the food allergies, I'm afraid that you will just have to avoid those foods. I don't believe there's any way to cure them, and I know that seafood and nuts can be very dangerous. Stay away from cats obviously, though sometimes an antihistamine will work if you have to deal with a temporary exposure, like visiting a cat owner's home. My cat allergy is very mild so I do own 2 cats who are members of the family. When my allergic father-in-law visits, an antihistamine works for him. Good luck to you.

I consider for so much individuals most likely a gluten hypersensitive reaction might be the worst. It's so limiting at the vitamin. I uncover having to hold clear of soy is difficult adequate. Personally, an hypersensitive reaction to take advantage of protein or lactose intolerance might be the worst. I are living for dairy! Being side Dutch and Scandinavian even though is frequently why I'm no longer allergic or illiberal but additionally why I consume such a lot dairy. Mmmm...

Hey don't feel bad that you have a lot of allergies. I too have many allergies. Hay fever, pollen, grass, dust, animals, certain flowers, peanuts, sea food, chilli powder, paprika, certain detergent softeners, some lace, fabric with animal hair.
I even have allergy to strong chemicals and strong smells. Some lotions I can not use. Soo many. I may have missed some. But you are not the only one.
I have asthma and very sensitive skin.

I am allergic to poultry, but I can eat fish and nuts. You need to watch out for eggs; they come from chickens you know. Read labels on hot dogs, lunch meat and even summer sausage. Vienna sausage is a no-no; it has chicken in it. I am also allergic to honey, beets, and cherries.
If you go to an allergist, he can give you desensitation shots which will take care of your cat and pollen allergies. They really do work; but it may take up to two years to help.

It is becoming more common for people to be allergic to things. They say it is because parents are not feeding their children different things in their childhood. You body rejects it because it has never had it before and your too old now.

I am a paramedic it is also important for you to carry something saying what you are allergic to. Some drugs have shell fish and other things in them that will kill you if given.

It does happen. I have a friend who's in the same boat- except that she has to avoid meat altogether. And my husband has to avoid dark-meat chicken and chicken fat because it will make him ill.

My friend's also allergic to cats- which is hard on her because she has several cats and dogs that she loves dearly. And she can't eat strawberries either- which is hard on her because she loves strawberry cheesecake.
