Unfortunately, the government believes that we as Americans lack the common sense to do what is right. Thus, they institute laws on everything from wearing seat belts to smoking in public to gun control to when/where/if they can violate our Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Amendment rights. But, because Americans, for the most part, lack the common sense to stop this "Creeping Socialism," this will continue. The next time you hear someone say, "The Government should stop...," tell them to reread 1984 and Fahrenheit 451. We are very close to this in today's world.
Vote Libertarian!
By the way, thegustaffa, trust me that the Government ruins our free will. We have none, laws against trans-fats, cigarette smoking, seat belts, the Second Amendment, taxes that STEAL from the working class to give to those who REFUSE to work, how quickly we Americans give up our Civil Liberties, our founding fathers are rolling over in their graves.

I agree with you !!!! There is only one way to change our government. We must organize and vote out all of the politicians who want to make laws regulating lifestyles, That includes Democrats, Republicans, Socialists of all sorts and needs to occur at both the federal and state levels, as well as in local politics. We also need to vote out anyone who opposes the fair tax as this is the only way to get the government to quit stealing money from us to pay for their bad policies. Only better education of the people will help and that seems to be impossible under the current system. Do you part Vote out the Incumbent. Vote Libertarian until something better comes along! Reduce our government to its primary purpose which is National Defense!

I believe that precise conservatives could argue that praying in college must be authorized however no longer enforced. Many Republicans in these days are exasperated with the quantity of RINO's we uncover. It stands for Republican in title best. On the opposite hand I do believe it is fair to invite that a few points of wise layout are taught considering that the proof for Evolution has holes that may be well plugged through a God. To forget about one department of ordinary philosophy fully is by no means a well concept.

Oh yeah! Glad to hear you speak out. It seems to me that in the past 10 years or so, instead of the "man" enforcing laws against real criminals, they have chosen the lazy way and decided to make average everyday peoples into potential criminals, by telling us what to eat, what not to smoke, where we can go, how late we can stay there....jeeeeze.
The "man" or government needs to get to work and do their real job and let us pursue happiness.........And get tough on True Crime. Thank You

we have freedom to choose but when people get lazy and don't vote ; don't care; don't voice their objections loudly this is the end result; people spoke up in the last election; don't just talk about it do something about it ; join in the fight before it is too late - we didn't get here overnight ; we all were willing to look the other way or feel that our vote doesn't matter; oh the election was today ; I forgot to vote etc etc - yelling at the TV doesn't help ; get involved

So you're saying you have government officials that are stopping you from choosing? They make suggestions, that is one of their jobs as public servants, but I have yet to see the government physically preventing me from making a single choice. You still have free will, what on earth are you talking about?!?!

Of course the government should stay out of our lives, but if they keeps us busy enough we will not catch on to all the other stuff they are doing.

I agree completely. Aren't we a nation of freedom? Or is that just an incorrect teaching of the "liberal media?" I've actually heard religious right-wingers claim the latter.
