When th ONLY apparent symptom is gooey white puke, meaning that she is otherwise fine, is there a real big worry?

She's got her "just came home" vet visit in a few hours, but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what it may be, so I can maybe suggest testing for it while we're there. We live in a rather crappy little area, and where our gigantic bird gets the best care availible in Gainseville, all the other pets gets thefunky "$40 per visit, no matter how many animals you have" deal out in Mclenny, so forgive me if I don't quite trust the vet. Heck, I don't trust the doctors around here after my psychologist yanked my meds in opt for what was either 1/4 or 1/2 of a dose of something right as I was starting a new school. I was on high doses of three different meds, so you know tht didn't go over well.

Anyways, anybody got anything to say about a 9 week old puppy vomiting white stuff?

Y'all are awesome with the good answers. I'd done a search on the white vomit and came up with a few questions with a bunch of answers screaming "PARVO" and "SERIOUS INFECTION" and blah blah blah. Somehow I couldn't beleive that, considering all of my cats have thrown up similar stuff and been fine, but they're cats, and the currently unnamed pooch is a dog, and I have next to no experience with dogs *although apparently I'm good. got her peeing on the pad and pooing outside in just one night*

I'm guessing it could be because the went hog wild on the grass, which was kinda funny, but since I don't know the poisonous plants outside a little worrysome. Anyways, thanks.

A white foamy/gooey vomit is pretty common in puppies. As long as she's not puking a lot (you didn't say if she did more than once), then I wouldn't worry. A tablespoon or two is normal, its possible that she ate a little grass outside.

it's sort of like bile for them it could have ate something it shouldn't have by mistake. My vet (and I have 3 dogs) says to use peptobismal. It really works it lines the stomach and the puppy should feel better soon about 1 tsp full.

Did the pup recently drink water? Did it resemble foam?
Sometimes pups drink to much water and then vomit it back up and it resembles foam...OR the pup got into something that disagreed (ate some grass) and that can also make it pass a white foam-like puke. Did you just take the dog for a ride in the car???? Car sickness can also make dogs foam...

If you look at the chunks you can read your fortune like tea leaves. Just kidding it means the dog is probably stressed. I would give the dog a day or so and if the vomit persists I would seek vet care.

Puppy probably needs to be wormed !!Make sure it is tested for heartworm as well.It is a nasty infestation that is curable now.Don't forget to have your puppy spayed or neutered at 6 mo.

You know how sometimes babies spit up after they eat? Well maybe its something like that. I'm sure its nothing to worry about.
