Please, don't say a happy ending. I'm really serious. I had a horrible experience with my first massage and just want to know what people getting the massage wish they would have said, what they would have done differently, and just what they expect to get out of the whole experience and what they want out of the whole experience. I wish I would have spoken up and told the girl that she needed to use some more oil because she was giving me indian burns. :(

It takes a few professional massages before you know what you like and dont like and feel confident to ask for it.

I am a professional MT and can always tell someone who gets alot of massage, it goes like: extra work on the neck and shoulders, no oil on the face, no abdominal work, extra attention on the feet and turn that music off. More pressure, do that again etc.

Also, when you walk in the massage room, unfold the blanket and inspect the sheets. Really. Nothing says pro like a client who inspects the sheets. It may sound awful but I know of a few places whose laundry startegy is to just "flip em over"

Good luck and get regular massage.

a massage is supposed to loosen the tensed up mussels, etc. Immediately after a massage you will be in a bit of pain but when the mussels relax it actually feels good.

There are also different type of massages and you need to be specific.
