i'm sure it does. i considered getting a tattoo on the back of my neck when i was 18 but i am glad i didn't. now i'm older and in a professional setting and i tend to wear my hair up often. i would hate to have to be constantly asked about it at work.
will this be your first tattoo? if it will be i would suggest maybe getting something a little more subtle.

I have a good-sized tattoo on the back of my neck, and it hurt, but it wasn't unbearable. And I still love it, almost 7 years later...

Hell yeah it does. And it hurts on your ankle, lower back... pretty much any area where nerves are just under the skin also. My hubby is a tattoist and I have 4 tats so far. The ones that hurt the least were on my shoulder area (upper arm) and my hip. The 2 that really hurt were my ankle and my lower back!

YES, like a SOB. I actually thought he was on the WRONG SIDE of my neck!!!.... I wanted to PAUSE (but I was afraid I'd be too chicken & wouldnt start back up) .....BUT No regrets! I got a yellow rose (means friendship) with my sisters initial. I LOVE it & would do it again in a heartbeat.

It was the second most painful of my tattoos (other locations are ankle, my legs (calf and thigh areas) and butt). The only thing more painful of mine was getting a tattoo done near/on my knee.
