From that same Catechism, article 847:
"Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation"
And no, we do not interpret the idea of "knowing" about the gospel or the church as condemning to hell all those who are aware of the existence of the church. Someone who "knows" the church is someone who has become convinced of Catholic doctrine, and subsequently rejects it. In other words, the Catholic church condemns consensual apostasy... not people of other faiths.

good question. we are all saved by the grace of God. So lets say somewhere someone in a foreign country never heard of Jesus, he has a chance to be saved if he leads a good life listens to his good conscience. Those who do not know of the Catholic faith to be the one true church or are ignorant they have a chance to be saved as well. If you know of the Church to be the truth and Jesus to be the truth and still reject it, then there is a problem. pick up a catechism, there is alot more info in there that I did not cover.

I don't know about Catholics, but to a Christian, a muslim would have to accept Christ as the only Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless and pure life, suffered and died upon the Cross for our sins, rose from the dead three days later signifying total victory over sin and death, and that He is coming again to judge the living and dead as a returning King. Unfortunately for the Muslim, it means that Mohammed can no longer enjoy the singular place he currently has in that religion. He would not be the path to salvation, only Christ is. Now, Catholics will say you need to confess your sins regularly to a priest, take communion or the Eucarist, (which is important), be baptised (essential), and pray to the saints. I'm a protestant. We baptise, we take communion, we confess our sins to God, (or others if we feel it will help us not do it again), but we believe that the only way to salvation, the only truly necessary steps, are Romans 10:9-10, which says, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." That's pretty much it, and pretty clear. No pilgrimage, no alms, no war, nothing else but accepting the gift of salvation.

The bride of Christ is the Church and we are one body in Him. I pray that non-Catholics come to recognize that God's gift of salvation comes only through Jesus Christ and His Catholic Church. We are all supposed to be one with him not divided which would be satans work. This is what satan would want that we fight among ourselves instead of loving eachother. The Church is holder of all truth regarding faith and morals given by Christ and the sacremants which include baptism. God bless

The easiest way would be to become a practicing Catholic. Other than that, please try to understand that we are men like you and that we have no idea who will be saved and who will perish. Loving God with all your heart and all your mind is a good start. By being moral and virtuos is good too. God will be the ultimate judge for who will live and who will perish according to how they have lived their life.

Regardless of what the Catholics say (and they have been proven to be wrong) the only way a Muslim can be saved is through Jesus Christ the Lord whom they reject.

I don't believe there is any "condition" you need to be in, in order to be saved. God loves us all for who we are and all he asks is for your love, and faith in him in return. You can't say you actually know God if you have never picked up a bible. If you believe in him, and you ask him with all your heart, to come into your life then of course he will be there. Just like it says in the bible... "Ask and you shall receive"..."Knock and the door will be opened"

According to the Catholic Office of the Holy Inquisition a .44 magnum is most likely to send a muslim in the right direction. One way or another.

Should not the question above be directed to Catholics(specifically) not (all) Christians?

for catholics, a person can not be saved based on his religion. It is based on how he has lived his life in this world. Has he served his purpose in this world.
