YOU CAN ENLIST AT 17
E1.2.1.1. For service in the Regular components, the minimum age for enlistment is 17 years and the maximum age is 42 years in accordance with Section 505 of title 10 United States Code (U.S.C.) (reference (c)). The maximum age for a prior service enlistee is determined by adding the individual's years of prior service to age 42. The Secretary concerned shall establish enlistment age standards for the Reserve components in accordance with Section 12102 of reference (c).

Think about what enlisting means to you - before you go ahead with it. Others may have built it up as a noble and heroic act; ask them why they haven't enlisted yet. It is not a bad thing to want to defend justice, but to defend it militarily is to say that we haven't evolved as a civilization. Please, if you're asking because you want to join the army, then do yourself the justice of studying the foreign policy that got you (U.S.) there.
