At red lights people sit in the far right hand lane which is designed for right hand turns then they continue on straight thru the intersection when the light changes. I think many of them are in a hurry so they want to pass traffic but don't they realize at some point they are going to be the ones stuck behind someone doing the same thing holding them up from making a right hand turn.

Yes, in such a hurry, and having no regard for other drivers.
Maybe they would understand how wrong it is if they has
someone else disobey the traffic markings and make
a right turn in the next left lane over. A dangerous
form of reverse psychology, but I bet it would
drive the point home and make them think
the next time they even think about trying
to get ahead of traffic that way after
their last wreck because of it. ;-)

You must be in a hurry, but then again, all those people that crowd the lanes and try and get one more car length ahead are in a hurry. Next time you are in a hurry and run a yellow light or get caught in the middle of an intersection when the light turns red, think about this and try to be the model citizen with morals and values so that others may learn from your example. "IT" happens and will continue forever until cars are banned from the road.

Because they might need to make a right hand turn just as soon as they are through the intersection and that's what that lane is there for also.The world doesn't revolve around you.I suggest that you learn to relax some and learn to be more patient.I am a truck driver and I was much like you but didn't want to end up dead from hypertension so I have learned to relax.Don't just think that people are being thoughtless or inconsiderate.Maybe that guy just lost his wife,or his child.You never know what people are going through and I believe that most people are trying to do good.So the next time you are sitting behind someone in that situation think to yourself boy I hope this person isn't going through anything tragic.

If the lane is designed for both then quit your complaining. If they need to be in that lane shortly after the intersection, who are you to tell them they can't be there. You are pissed off at them trying to get to their destination faster, only because they are slowing you down from trying to do the same thing. Quit being such a hypocrite. A lot of people don't like forcing their way into a lane they need to be in so they get there whenever they have the chance. Unlike you, they are patient enough to wait until the opportunity to turn arises.

Most often drivers aren't aware that there is room for another car to get buy especially noted if there are no double lane markings. It's actually illegal to do so if no turning lane has been provided and, if someone really wants to be mean they can hit you and, you would be deemed at fault.

My understanding of right turn on red is that it is an option if it is safe to make the turn.
It is not mandatory that light be regarded as stop sign.
Many is the time I waited for light to change rather than make the right turn on red.
Could not see over the hill very well.
My option.
Seattle is still pedestrian friendly but there are drivers who think they have the right of way and can blow through a crosswalk or treat red light as stop sign.
A couple of times I have almost gotten nailed by drivers doing a rolling stop to make right turn on red.
But my understanding is right turn on red is optional.

Well, you answered your own question. Karma. What comes around, goes around. Sooner or later the officer on patrol will see them pull out in front of the other traffic to to straight from the right turn lane, and they will leave about $250 with the court clerk when all is said and done.

The true root of the problem is genetics. These people are bred to be bike riders. Somehow along the course of their life they ended up with a drivers license.(Freak of Nature)
They can't fight the full impact of their instincts so they naturally hang to the right.
