That depends on what you are looking for. If you want history, well the UK has all kinds of that dating from way before the US was a country.

If you want modern stuff, I would say NYC is the best.

If you want to entertain children, I would say Disney world.

If you want to go outdoors to a national park I would say either Yellowstone or grand canyon.

The greatest tourist attraction depends a lot more on the tourist then on the attractions.

Skip the big cities and go to the Rocky Mountains, Yellow Stone or the Grand Canyon.

I'd say The Mall of America, all the airlines fly there and tourists from overseas here about it all the time, so they automatically want to go there.
