In how many ways can they sit in a row, such that any two neighboring persons have no problems in communication?

Is this a trick? Can they all speak french?
If so answer is 5!
(thats factorial not an excited answer)
=120

EDIT:
I reckon if they don't know french (for some odd reason) the answer is 40. - But not sure about that

Since they are all french, shouldn't they all speak french? They can all sit by whoever they want and talk to whoever they want.....RIGHT?!?!?!?!?!
