I was enrolled in a Catholic school in Los Angeles for 12 years in the 70' and 80's. I was wondering if anyone else was periodically struck or beaten by the priests or nuns. I remember many other kids getting hit with hands, rulers and erasers.I was hit so many times that I thought that it was normal-and I was a good kid.

I think it was considered normal to hit kids at that time. Especially in catholic schools.

We were supposed to be put in one, but my mother saw the neighbor's kid's hand one day and refused to put us in the catholic school. It's what we now call physical abuse.

I attended 12 years of Catholic School from 1948 to 1960. The quality of the education was VERY poor, and the child abuse was VERY high! I hated every day! I no longer attend a Catholic Church! The sexual abuse of the Altar Boys by the priest finished me as a Catholic! I am totally disgusted with the Catholic Clergy, and the Catholic Church! The whole organization should go to hell! I witnessed major child abuse when I was an elementary student in Catholic School in NYC! I was also abused by nuns!

Me too. I hate them. I had a Nun that tried to cut off my fingers with the steel edge of a ruler. They are evil people.
I saw the Nun again when I was 25 and 6 ft 2 220 lbs of muscle.
The coward ran into the convent and glared at me through a window. She called me Satan.
I just wanted to return the favor and destroy her guitar playing too.
Instead of being an artist. I had to work oil rigs
Catholics are evil. But then so are all religions that have Yahweh the interloper as their god.

I remember the "good old days" too. I was smacked a few times, once with a closed fist in the mouth by a nun. But the thing was, I deserved that one. But it was very strict and if you stepped out of line, WHAM!

Benedict XVI is better specialist-abortion than you should probable imagine of. The Catholic Church used to coach that baptism became mandatory for salvation (John 3:5). so that you ask, what got here about to the unbaptized babies? there changed into some element called "The Limbo of the babies" it is the position unbaptized babies went at the same time as they died. They weren't approved into Heaven by fact of unique sin. precise, Benedict XVI surely pronounced, there is not any limbo! He surely bumped off one supernatural position from the religion! There are in basic words 5 supernatural places, Heaven, Purgatory, The Limbo of the Fathers, the Limbo of the babies, Hell. as a fashion to get rid of one is a truly good deal. so long tale short now the Catholic Church believes that aborted babies can visit Heaven. So the present Catholic Church is specialist-abortion! To be hostile to abortion and Catholic is illogical because aborted babies visit Heaven to boot.

We use to have to wrap our fingers around the edge of the desk then Sister Mary Adolf would hit you on the knuckels with her wooden ruler. Boy did that hurt.

O ye who believe! surely, many of the priest and the monks devour the wealth of men by false means and turn men away from the way of Allah. And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give to them the tidings of a painful punishment.

You can choose to let it effect the rest of your life or forgive and let healing come into your life and bless those that hurt you. Vengenace is the lords. There are many scriptures I have found in the bible that deals with abuse, that satified me after being sexually abused by a father that twisted his religion as an excuse to abuse me.
