My cell phone provider (Alltel) charges a dime for every txt msg sent or received. So I had them block all text msgs both in and out on my phone and my wife's phone. End of story!

Yes but it's handy sumx. St 1ly 12p 2say 1helluva lot, w vry few kystrks !
However Personally I find a keyboard a great deal faster and eeasier to use than a phone pad. Further so long as your correspondent understands english then you both know exactly what you mean.

I love texting and prefer to have text conversation over phone calls because it eliminates that awkward pause. Don't get me wrong, I still call the guys I like but not as often.....Plus I think it's a nice thing to do to send them a quick message like, thinking of you. Hope your day is going good, if you don't have plans tonigh i'd love to see you. Then I would call them. Sometimes calling too much can make you appear needy, but sending a cute text just let's them know that you are thinking of them.

The guy that I'm dating doesn't have text and it drives me nuts.

Well when you text someone you need to text them right back because that's the whole point of text messaging. Now if it's a phone call then you may wanna play hard to get. But just send corny text messages like "how's your day going?", "I was thinking about you", stuff like that.

Not alone have people lost the ability to speak but this has been accompanied by the obliteration of all proper language and spelling in texts - it is beyond irritating. I never use the text type shorthand.

Most guys aren't talkers by nature. Phone calls are more intimate. Texting, keeps a certain distance, yet makes it easier to say things you would not necessarily say on the phone.

Cell phones and this type of technology are convenient inconveniences. I'll never own one, personally.
