Personally if my lady friend had told me that she still cares about me and wants to make our relationship grow but that I had two strikes against me I would withdraw. It seems to me you took what could have been a positive moment and set it back by applying the negative to it.
What probably should have been said instead is this. That you care about him deeply and you do know that you and him have had your issues in the past but that you believe in what you have and want to make it work. TO me that places it on a much more positive playing field as opposed to going to the plate already with two strikes.

Honey tell him the how you feel. I know women have soft souls and do not like hurting anybody. The best thing you can do here is lay out your cards and explain to him in a civil manner what is bugging you. If he is willing to change, then it might be worth your while otherwise do what you must do to make yourself happy again. Good Luck

If i knew that i really hurt the girl i was with i would be already trying not to screw up anymore (if i cared)
But if he has two strikes and then you break up with him.. well.. i would think that although i would be hurt and pissed i wouldnt say that it wasnt warrented.
I say 2 strikes is more than enough to be out.

It all depends on the way it was presented and if we were given any recourse. If you told me that you were unhappy with the choices i had made and if i didn't do this or that that I would lose you then I would have to make a choice and either try harder or let you go. If you told me that you had had it with me and you were leaving me and that was that and I wasn't given a choice or chance to make it up to you then I would feel very hurt.
In the end you have to weigh what he had done to you and what his lifestyle is like and is he likely to steer right and make a happy life with you.

Men tend to take things literally. If you say you're not happy he will believe you. In the meantime, if I was doing something to make my wife unhappy I'd want to know.

Me i would try to change if i really cared about them, but thats just me. However if nothing changes and you still have to put up with alot, ditch him and find someone else.

My wife constantly tellms me I'm a lazy loser. I get frustrated, but continue to try to please her, per God's will. To tell you the truth, I don't ever seeing being able ot make her happy, but I keep trying.
So the answer to your question is, I'd keep trying.

I don't like mind games. If that's the way you really feel then say it; otherwise don't or you will be sending mixed messages (people dislike that).
