Well sad fact is that your not alone and there are many other mothers that have experienced exectly what you are currently feeling. If you have any friends that have also experienced this it might be wise to ask them how they got over it. I believe that within a month or so your little guy will be looking forward to going to his school and socializing with his new found peers, and this may make you feel a little sad also as he'll want to be with them rather then you. Can win it sounds like. Ha! Actually it may be the healthiest thing that you can do for the little guy. He'll probably cry when you first leave him but you are going to have to remain strong and not drop your tears till you get back into the car. Your guilty feelings will leave you and it may be healthy for you also as you'll be socializing with other adults even if just while at work. Best of luck and hopefully your little guy will be brave for you and enjoy his first day and all days that follow.

You sound like you're mourning your loss. It's normal. Being a mother is about teaching them how to be successful people without us. And teaching them how to never forget that we love them. You'll both do fine.

Guilt. No need.
Go do something for yourself. It sounds like it is overdue for mom on her own time.

Good luck and have fun.
