The best way is to download the free DVDshrink.
It compresses the movie (with a little loss in video quality) so that it can fit in a normal 4,7 GB DVD.
You can also remove unnecessary stuff from your DVD-movie (foreign languges, xtra chapters, directror comments) to increase the quality of the remaining video by lower compression rates.
This program is the best as far.

You may have to use a dual layer DVD. Be careful, though, many DVD players will not play dual layer DVD's. I have four DVD players at home and only one of them will do it.
