I keep getting the following message when i try and play some of my DVDs (all bought - not copies) -

Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred with digital copyright protection.

- i also get a similar message in Nero Showtime and RealPlayer. I've installed a DVD decoder pack which hasnt made any difference!!

Slightly confused here. Any ideas?? :)

I have solved the problem by downloading VLC Media player, it seems there is some annoying licensing on my copy of windows that refuses to let me play legitimate DVDs on any other programme. Thanks for all you suggestions.. problem is now solved :D

(curse you microsoft!)

Try buying some airspray and windex. clean off the the dvds with windex and clean out your drive with the air spray. Thats a comman prob. Or you could try getting some new codexs and ect if that dosnt work.

Try using the DVD player software that came with the DVD player instead.

I am confused to...

Whatever installed the digital copyright protection on your computer... should be removed.

If you bought some music or movies online... it would not surprise me that the copy protection comes from there.
