Are you an active duty member of the military?

If not, then that is your answer.

No, you do NOT have to be active duty to access these sites. I'm on them all the time. www.news.navy.mil is a perfect example. I also have problems with the all the time! grrrrr. ha! Anyway, as silly as it may sound, make sure you actually type out the whole address, including the "www". I don't know why it makes a difference since nearly every other site I go to I don't need to do that, but it often gets me through on the navy. mil sites. If that doesn't work, wait 10 minutes and try again.

If it still doesn't work for you, do a search for something like "navy news" and when the .mil site pops up in the search, access it from there. Also, it seems like once you've gotten in, it's a WHOLE lot easier next time.

Good luck!

It could be the computer you're using. I just typed www.navy.mil into my browser and had no problem.. Sometimes the trick is to get into a page thru a different portal.
