In defense of the Christians, almost all heed the forgiving and inclusive words of Jesus rather than these citations.
Some few Christians do equate a loving and exclusive relationship to the attempted homosexual rape of angels which lead to the fall of Sodom and Gammorrah merely because of homosexuality. These are the ones who want to run the homosexuals out of the nation for fear that the nation will be destroyed.
(Sodomites were originally only the male ritual prostitutes in the religion of the area prior to the rise of Israel, in Genesis 18-19, making such activity a violation of the first commandment, "I am Yahweh, thy God, and thou shalt have no other god before me.")
Additionally, homosexuality is forbidden, as an abomination to God, by Leviticus 18:22. Bi-sexuality condemns not just same sex but opp sex partners to death in Lev. 20:13.
Paul includes homosexuality in a laundry list of unrighteous acts in I Corinthians 6: 7-11. In Romans 1:24-32, Paul calls the act unclean, and worthy of death.
Again, a very few Christians actually take the word of Paul as the absolute word of God. These few consider each author of the Bible of equal worth.
Many Christians never study deeply enough to realize that these were real, fallable humans without monestarian discipline when writing and copying the works of the early church. They can think: since God is good and love and joy, then if people feel good and love and joy together, then God must approve.
At worst, the average Christian thinks a homosexual should repent, go forth, and sin no more.

The fact of the matter is, according to the Bible, everybody, homosexual or otherwise, is bad. Only God is good. All have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God.
The Bible's condemnation of sexual sins concentrates on heterosexual sex, but all sexual sins including homosexual practices are forbidden because they go against God's design for sex to occur as part of the union between men and women in marriage.
See for example Leviticus 18:22; 20:13; Romans 1:26-27.

Leviticus 20:13 says that homosexuality is an abomination. Now to the rest of your question. No, I don't think homosexuals are bad people, but rather, people in the grip of a bad lifestyle. As for people who say that homosexuals are not welcome in the church, I say, the church is exactly where they need to be. Christ did not come to save the righteous, but to bring salvation to the sinner. I do not believe the church should refrain from pointing out the wrongness of the homosexual lifestyle, but I do believe that the homosexuals need Christ just like everyone else.
First Corinthians 6:9 tells us that people who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Now it is up to the homosexuals to decide whether they want to embrace the teachings of the scriptures or not, but the church should not change the teachings just to be politically correct in today's world.

Like the person, but not the sin. Even science can make their sin look wrong. Everyone knows a sex drive does not kick in until you are a teen, but these sinners (and we are all sinner and have fallen short, but they are addicts because their sin has become a way of life) claim they know who they are attracted to before, the drive kicks in. So that leaves us with the psychological conclusion (being gay was once considered a disorder) they have either been sexually abused, come from a dysfunctional family or they just choose to sin or be addicted to the lifestyle, like people get addicted to meth. Choosing to say they are that way after God says it worng is an excuse to commit a sin, even Adam blamed the tree incident on his wife.

Christians aren't suppose to HATE anyone because hate is the equivalent of murder. Jesus said that in His Sermon on the Mount. The reason Christians argue against the practice of homosexuality is because the bible tells us that God finds it detestable (Lev 18:22). BEING homosexual isn't a sin but PRACTICING homosexuality is a sin. We don't want to see anyone go to hell so we are trying to enlighten them as to what God says about it.

Nonsense Catholic Christianity's teachings with regard to the ban on idolatry is actual biblical and on polytheism too however the 'Islam prompted" ban on religious statuary of many Fundamentalist protestants is opposite to God's command in Exodus 25 to make and honour statues of angels additionally, the ban on photographs of Jesus is an affront to Jesus' being the particular image of God as God the eternal word taking on a real human image and nature Homoerotic interest is banned with the aid of the two previous and New testomony and the ban is amazingly clean and not ambiguous in any respect

In religion, men suck up all the places, in scripture, that are the womans place, or role. They are standing, where they ought not!
They wear the breast plates, they make the show bread for the table, were all the jewels. They are imposters, posing as women.
Why do you think Jesus gave us such a mild, almost woman like, representation of God?
Religion teaches men to become homosexuals. It teaches men to be unsure of thier gender. There might be a short period of grace for some, not all, homosexuals.
They are drinking the cup of Gods furious anger.
From-The Wisdom of Solomon.
Thus they reasoned, but they were led astray,
For thier wickedness blinded them,
and they did not know the secret purposes
of God,
nor hope for the wages of holiness,
nor discern the prize for blameless
souls;
for God created man for incorruption,
and made him in the image of his
own eternity,
but through the devil's envy death
entered the world,
and those that belong to his party
experiece it.
(To late, man saw, his grave mistake.)

I don't hate the people, I just dislike the sin. Same as I would feel about a thief or a liar. The sin is what is wrong and seperates us from God. Jesus commanded us to love everyone though and since he commanded it it must be true! One of my best friends is gay. Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to see past surface issues and still like people for being themselves.

The sin is bad enough for God to have destroyed two cities because of it. The people are just in need of a savior.

Homosexuals are no worse than any other people who need Jesus. It is the sin of homosexuality that God hates, but he will forgive it if the person repents. Gay marriage does not legitimatize homosexual conduct.
