If you can get over the stigma, go to your florist in the grocery store. They do beautiful work and are considerably less than a florist shop.
My local store actually has a book you can page through to see their arrangements, you would never know the difference. And since you are getting them cheaper you can afford to do more or you can save alot and put that money elsewhere.

Hi! Congrads on your wedding. I am a newly wed myself. Try to select flowers that are in season of your wedding to keep cost down. You should be able to find pink and sage colored flowers very easily through out the year. Also, try grocery stores - they have a florist and the price is usually half of what you would pay if you had someone private do your wedding. Also, to substitue flower centerpieces why not do pink and peridot candles with some rose petals? There are a million ideas out there! Good luck

If you or anyone you know can do flower arranging, ordering your flowers online is a great idea. We ordered ours from www.freshroses.com. They were shipped Fed Ex overnight and arrived two days before the wedding. I don't know ANYTHING about flower arranging and even I was able to throw flowers and greens into vases and make them look gorgeous. We put roses in my bouquet--18 ivory roses and 6 pink ones, and hand-tied it with green ribbon--My colors were similar to yours, plus silver--you have great taste!! ;) It took some time, but we only spent about $300 and had tons and tons of flowers that looked wonderful. So many people asked who our florist was. I'd highly recommend visiting the website and seeing if it would work for you--they have a phone number that you can call and talk to someone who can help you decide what is best for you. Congratulations!! Good luck--

The best advice I have is to talk to a florist about what flowers you like and also what kind of a budget you have to work with. They can tell you what flowers will be more costly and what flowers will be in your budget. A lot of times the flowers are priced according to the seasons and availability. Picking flowers that are available in the season you are getting married will reduce your cost. They will also be able to tell you what flowers will work well with the style of bouquet you choose. Don't worry, no matter what your budget is your florist will make sure you have elegant flowers at your wedding. Hydrangeas are inexpensive and come in sage green and pink. You could use them with a few tulips and lillies. Don't be afraid to let the florist know what you have in mind for your special day. Here are a few pictures with the flower descriptions.

If you find a bouquet that you like online, in a book, or at the florist don't fret, your florist can still make your dream flowers even if she has to use different ones than are in the original.

Honestly, roses are one of the cheapest flowers for bouquets!
Not all flowers are sturdy enough to be in a bouquet all day long without wilting. Among these flowers are roses, and they are the cheapest because the florist can order them in such large quantities and get a bulk discount.

Check out any Vocational - Technical High Schools in your area and see if they teach Floral arranging or anything related. A friend of mine got her flowers from a Vo-Tech school and only paid 33% of the lowest quote she got from a florist. The class took it on as a project and they were absolutely beautiful! The quality was fantastic because the students were graded on them....

Vases (you can pick them up at a pottery store(Like Old TIme Pottery)), Floating candles, on ebay nearly nothing. You can also get those decorating crystals, they are kind of round look like a rock for a few dollars. If you are going black and white, you could use black and white photos of you all or black and white photos off famous people to use as table markers, if you are using place cards. Like Mickey and Minnie, Lucy and RIcky in black and white and just have the photo in the center. You can print photos on the net for free and get some frames cheep.

If you have a friend that can arrange the flowers for you you can e-mail the customer service at bloom depot. (Green logo)They send dozens of fresh roses in bulk. Good luck! When's your wedding?
P.S Do you like Stargazers? Their stargazers are awesome. Like I said, just e-mail the customer service, they are really good.

I went with silk flowers, I am having the color blue in my bouquet and it was soo hard to find blue flowers. I also wanted my favorite flowers incorporated.
Check out www.affordable-elegance.com that is where I got mine, they are beautiful (I was shocked when I opened the box) and she will personalize everything for exactly what you want, and its WAYYY cheaper !!

Hydrangeas come in a variety of colors and shades. Since their blooms are large they will take up more space, thus saving you money on buying tons of flowers with smaller blooms. If you get them in season I don't think they are that expensive.
