go to market, buy a tv tuner card (internal or external as per ur choice) and it is very easy to install.
i would suggest external as u dont have to switch on ur cpu to watch tv but u cant record any tv programs through this card. on the other hand the internal tv tuner will let u record also while watching tv but ur cpu has to remain on throughout. the choice is urs. cost is almost same.
will cost somewhere about Rs.950 or so. nothing typical at all. just bifurcate your cable connection and connect one to ur tv one to your tv card and enjoy.

hello...
yes you could watch tv on your computer...
but at a maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels NORMAL dvd quality...
you just need a TV tuner card, that is external ... right
USB based TV tuner card ... its worth
buy from Pinnacle - the market leader or
Videomate etc.. they are competitors..
but a PCI TV card, it directly pligs into your motherboard and you cant use when you need to get using LAPTOPS so buy an usb one , PCI tv card costs : around rs.1600 + remote
USB tv card costs a RS.1600+1000 rupees ...Satisfied??
Also dont forget to get one bundled with IR remote , FM tuner and Windows XP media center compatibe hardware...

You should be able to use your normal AV Cable, this plugs into a TV card which you install in your computer, so thats really your singular cost if all goes well. Unfortunatly I cant quote you a price in Rupees though.

There are Two ways that u can use to watch TV on computer.
First one is Buy a TV Tner Card and add it to slots onto ur Mother Board. u can also listen to FM Radio also.
The Price costs Rs. 2500
U can also record from Radio and Capture videos.
Second one is Buy a TV combo box, which is a external device.
u need to connect ur monitor to it.
u cannot capture and record .
Only monitor is required here..
The Price costs Rs. 3000

.
Nothing special is needed. Just buy a TV Combo box. It will cost around Rs.1200.
If you bought it, just your monitor is enough to watch TV. No need to boot your computer. Just you monitor cable has to be connected to the combo box, which already will have the cable for TV connected.
If you go for TV tuner card, you have to buy it for around Rs.2500 and everytime you have to boot your computer for just watching TV. But one advantage is that you can record the video you see on the TV to your computer and save it.

Usually just a display card that supports receiving the non-interlaced signal that a television would use. The software always comes with such a card.
