we just got a new treadmill and i wanted to do 30mins of cardio in the morning, and then 30mins in the afternoon plus weight training.(the weights are broken up into different body parts over 5 days). i'm aiming for about 300cals/day in cardio and about 100 in weight lifting. if it's safe to do so, about how many pounds could be lost in a week? my diet is already fine, for my new years resolution i cut out soda which saves me about 3000-5000 calories a week lol. about 2lbs a week right?

You seemed to have done some homework...I applaud you in this day when many people are too lazy to do some research.

It is perfectly safe to workout twice a day with the routine you've mentioned. Providing you maintain that healthy and plentiful diet to make up for the loss nutrients your body will require for the exercises and weight loss.

BTW....bravo for cutting out soda. Many people fail to add soda as part of their caloric intake, then wonder why they aren't losing weight.

Good luck
