"Dans la pénombre"

If you choose "Dans l'obscurité", it means that people won't see anything!

However, both are not very evocative in French and not poetic at all. Whereas the English sentence is mysterious and intimate, it sounds scary in French.
If you explain the atmosphere you want to translate in the name of this bar, I'll give you some proposals in French!!

“Dans les ténèbres”

May I make a suggestion? Joseph Conrad's novel "The Heart of Darkness" (beautiful words) is "Au cœur des ténèbres" in French. That might ring a bell in people's minds.
