I'm trying to eat healthier.Need to lose about 30lbs and am trying to change eating habits before trying to obsess about weight. I had asked questions earlier about flaxseed. This is my typical daily breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal made with 1 cup skim milk, 1/4 cup raisins and a couple of dashes of cinnamon along with a cup of green tea or coca tea. Is this a healthy breakfast that will lead me on the right track to losing weight. I am now thinking of adding ground flax seed to my oatmeal. I need a breakfast that is quick to make and I can conveniently take with me the office at 6 am. And a breakfast that will have lasting power. Any other healthy breakfast suggestions?

it sounds like a good start to me. i'm trying to do the same thing, and someone pointed out the site sparkpeople.com. you can actually put in all the nutritional facts or pick stuff off a list (and they even have brand name stuff) and it will calculate the nutritions you are getting and tell you what range you should be having of each. its worth it to at least look at the site. i thought it was going to be pretty dumb at first, but its good just to see what you think might be good may be full of crap or something! lol

Try eating cold cereal that is rich in fiber too, Like granola, kashi, smart start

Add some more protein to your meal

Smoothies are great when youre not that hungry

Increase your fruit intake to maybe a 1/2 cup or 1 cup

If you have time the day before make a small breakfast casserole in a throw a way dish ( like a mini bread loaf pan) Those are called Stratas---In the morning while youre getting ready throw in the oven and before you leave take it out and eat it there or cover it and eat it at work.

many people slim down by letting theselves have the breakfast that they want and really going big for that meal only. THEN, lunch and dinner are carefully monitored with little to no snacks in between. you're having a very healthy breakfast, but will that really carry you over to lunch without being completely starving? i lost quite a bit of weight eating a full breakfast with any cereal i wanted (cap'n crunch, usually.....i love that sh*t!!!) - as much of it as i wanted - some fruit, juice and coffee. the whole idea is to jump start your metabolism early in the day. (this is why exercising in the morning is totally invaluable, too). the more energy you have, the better you're going to metabolize...and when are we at our freshest? obviously, breakfast time.

then, for lunch, i'd be more conservative, as i said. if i wanted a snack, i wouldnt' be too picky, but i'd always focus on fat free or low fat stuff - and no candy. (that was hard) that last thing is more of a personal discipline thing for me. alot of doctors and weight loss specialists will let you have a fun size candy bar or something - as long as it's in moderation and it comes with exercise.

try and get out a bit more to walk, run, ride a bike, etc. it pays off so much quicker. or just have lots and lots of sex with your married one.....no joke. every day sex is great for weight loss....and it beats the hell out of the treadmill from where i'm sitting!!!!lol

good luck taking off the weight.

i do not comprehend what style of cereal it really is, in spite of the undeniable fact that it really is tremendous extreme in protein. Protein is sweet yet you probable do not choose more effective than 20-30g in step with day. the extreme fibre content is large alongside with the low energy and fat. i might want to assert that it truly is an staggering breakfast for dropping weight, in spite of the undeniable fact that if it doesn't fill you up and also you nonetheless experience hungry when you devour, it might nicely be problematic in case you ultimately end up snacking more effective some thing of the day.
