No. Girls tend to grow more steadily than boys while boys experience more growth "spurts" where they will grow several inches in a short period of time.

In general, girls grow faster and mature sooner than boys, but then they stop growing sooner also, and the boys keep growing. I stopped at age 13, but my younger son is almost 13 and he is just now starting his growth spurt phase.

i have read about this somewhere long back,,its says gals do become mature faster and before than boys do....
