The Catholic Church does not support gay marriage.

The Catholic Church believes that God himself is the author of marriage and has created it for one man and one woman.

The Church further teaches that being homosexual is not a sin but that all single people (heterosexual and homosexual) are called to celibacy.

What civil governments decide to do is up to their citizens and the constitution of the country.

But the Church has a commission from Jesus Christ to "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, ... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."

In obedience to this command, the Church has been telling world governments what it believes is right and wrong since the time of the Romans.

With love in Christ.

Not everyone believes in the literal word of the Bible. Not everyone interprets the Bible the same way. Christians often say the Old Testament stuff no longer applies since Jesus made a new covenent with the people then they pick and choose what still does apply from the Old Testament. This partially accounts for the many different sects of Christianity that we have. The Old Testament also says things like parents should stone their disobedient children to death and a man who marries a woman and finds her not a virgin can have her put to death. We don't seriously consider following such rules today.

Most churches do not accept homosexuality, but we love the sinner. We are no less a sinner than anyone.

Matthew 22:37-40
37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Romans 3:23-24
23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;

God did not change His mind, true Christ followers have not waivered in the truth. Those of you who wonder what the Bible does have to say about Homosexuality . . .

1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Timothy 1:9-11
9realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.

. . . . homosexuality was very prominant in the times of Jesus. He came because of sin. I just want to emphasize, I don't have a problem with homosexuals, but even I don't get to follow my own nature. We live to honor God. We honor God by dying to self. Through His grace we live more fulfilled lives with a higher purpose.

It's a clear example of spiritual warfare. Why did Christians butcher millions of people during the Crucades? Why did people suffer during the Inquisitions in the name of Jesus? Lots of bad stuff has happened in the name of religion. That doesn't mean that relition is bad - it means that all human beings are corruptable by Satan.

Many churches today are falling prey to the work of Satan. Just like the Jews, while they were waiting for Moses to come down with the 10 commandments built an idol to worship, many of today's churches are turning away from God's word.

The most important thing for Christians to do, is to "vote with our feet" and leave churches that are accepting of acts that the Bible calls abominations. In my local community, a very large Episcopal congregation withdrew from the denomination and aligned with a more conservative denomination that forbids homosexuality. God's going to win in the end - but the spiritual warefare is going to continue to the final days.

The important thing to note here is that it's a fraction of US churches that are doing this, and the vast majority of Christians in the US believe in what the Bible teaches.

Acceptance of homosexuality is one of the first signs spoken of in the book of revelations. It means that the end is coming and the world will stand on it's head and what was wrong will be right and what is right will be wrong. In the near future you are going to see many more organisations and people accept homosexuality because it is the in thing to do or because it will become perceived as normal.
You and people like you will likely find yourselves persecuted by the mainstream for not accepting homosexuality as we are already seeing subtle signs of. This is no different than many of the biblical stories about the onset of evil in the world and the persecution of Christians, the bible is dead on in these teachings as you can see for yourself in this life time.
This is one of the reasons why it is imperative that the homosexual community discredit the bible, God and christianity, once they can remove God and religion from the equation they can then begin moving homosexuality into the mainstream.

Gay love is biological and chemical differences in the brain and is not a hateful offense.God made us all and therefore we are all perfect You could have been gay very easily,so do not show prejudice against your fellow man.God wants all of us to accept each other completely. If you think it is a sin ,you are wrong. It is love, pure and simple.Besides it is no ones business.Minorities are picked on unfairly.Love all and accect all is Gods way and mine

Actually it's the Anglican Church that is at the forefront of sloughing off all the bullshit interpretations concerning the Bible's supposedly eternal condemnation of homosexuality. When it comes to Biblical scholarship, Episcopalians actually know what the hell they're doing (i.e. not just quoting from Leviticus like a stupid douchebag).

In that case they are also disobeying Gods law if they serve ham or shellfish at a luncheon or potluck. Leviticus also bans these foods in the same harshness as it bans homosexuality.

First you are generalizing. Some US churches support Gay marriage but most do not. You need not to make generalizations.
