I wouldn't set a time limit at first. Walk him until he seems tired or bored (bring water & a few treats) I have a 3 month old ball of fluff & energy. He could walk/run for hours & never tire of playing.
Good luck!

When I first had my puppy, she was walking with me the whole time. But my friend.. who had a 2 week older puppy, her dog would have to stop. Even though hers was bigger.
I would say try and see how it goes, If your dog stops and won't move, then you know you have over worked him/her. 3 months old wouldn't be too heavy to carry a little ways home :)

You do need to be careful to not over-exercise such a young pup. It will depend on a few things, including the breed.
Vets warn that too much exercise too early can cause damage to dogs in the longer term and make then more prone to arthritis.
If I were you I would get some good advice from my vet. A number of different views have been given in answer and, in the interest of the long term health of your dog, professional advice should be sought.

It should be fine for any average 3 month old puppy. Depends a a bit on the breed, though.

hahahaha bet you he/she will be in heaven, then come home for a cute puppy nap. At 10 weeks my rescued St. Bernard puppy did a 2 mile walk for Atlanta Animals Alliance in Oct. He loved it, carry a portable water bowl (you can find material fold ones at petco or wally world...walmart...pretty cheap) though and take a short break here and there when needed til she builds up her endurance. Hooray for you also for getting your animals exercise, obesity has become almost as common in house pets as it has children in America lately. Keep up the awesome pet care!!!!!

YES. if he gets too tired, you can carry him. Dogs love to exercise, i'd take him on several 30 min walks each day!

I don't see were it would hurt just make sure that you take some water with you, and if you notice your puppy getting tired then stop and give it a break.

The puppy will be fine. Worst case senario, the puppy will get tired and you'll have to carry it.

Make sure puppy is up to date with his vaccinations, he can pick up diseases smelling other dogs' faeces. (diseases such as parvo virus)
Otherwise 30 minutes a day would be good for him! He'll love it!
