How come almost 90% of the jokes on this site that are adult-oriented, i.e. intercourse, oral sex etc. usually involve only a husband & his wife? Why not it involve a boyfriend & girlfriend, or even two strangers having a fling?

I think the husband and wife references just harken back to traditional joke fodder. I think when the concept of a joke was developing it was in a day when people got married more. So, I suppose it comes out of tradition, but also, perhaps since in society, a married bond is considered a truer, stronger bond, it lends more to the humor of the joke, at least to some people. Just a theory.

Because marriage is always funnier. It makes the hell you live in a bit more tolerable. Just kidding, I'm happily married but I still enjoy marriage jokes more than "bf/gf" jokes.
