Sometime our prayer are answered as no.
Paul written in 2 Corinthians 12:7-10
7)To keep me from becoming conceited because of these surpassingly great revelations, there was given me a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me.
8)Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.
9)But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.
10)That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Verse 9 sum it up nicely, GOD said "My grace is sufficient for you"

I have been the subject of healing through prayer and I have now been free for many years from a complaint which was medically uncurable. I have seen others healed through prayer, but I have seen many more who were not physically healed despite much prayer and I continue to pray for healing for people close to me who do not show signs of physical healing. However, I don't give up, as the teaching of the Bible is that one must continue. I was struck only yesterday that the text "Ask and it will be given to you..." is really: "Keep asking and it will be given to you. Keep searching and you will find. Keep knocking and the door will be opened to you." Somebody once pointed out to me that the man healed at the Gate Beautiful through Peter (Acts Chapter 3) had had a long career of sitting there begging and Jesus would have passed him many times. But he needed to be brought to a certain point where he was ready to receive healing. Is there something holding you back, particularly now where you don't seem to think that such things are possible? Or are you unable to accept that sometimes the healing has to be within ourselves rather than in our body?

Using religion as an answer to everything is an emotional crutch. Just because you see some slick suited snake-charmer on TV (televangelist) appear to heal someone, doesn't mean it's real...it's the same pro-wrestling, when we were kids, we all wanted to believe it was real and got mad when someone tried to tell us otherwise. Got news for ya...the whole thing is dollar making scam by hypocrits. Did Jesus sport $1200 dollar suits, $700 Italian shoes and a multi-million dollar vacation site? These religious "faith healers" are nothing more than predators that feed off of the limited income of the desperate. I'm not denying the existance of God, but relying on divine intervention is foolish. Besides, prayers should never be formatted for one's personal gain...including health. If you truly believe in God, then you should already know this. If you had a severe infection and you relied soley upon faith...then tomorrow you'll have a nastier infection. If you seek medical treatment and the infection subsides, it's because you took action for yourself. The balls in your court, nobody's gonna serve it for you.

How do you really know that your prayers were not answered? You sound like you are alive and well now, so someone got you well. If God did not want us to heal ourselves, then we not have the knowledge to train physicians. God gave them to us as a healing tool. Trust me. If God did not want you to get well, then all the doctors in the world will not be able to save you. Also, sometimes the best answer to a prayer is not the answer we want. Thank about that please. Someone can pray that their loved one come out of a coma and then they come out of the coma, but are brain dead. Their prayer was answered, but maybe the brain damage was the reason God kept them in a coma. We are not always happy with getting what we pray for. Just remember, be careful what you pray for, you may get it. Just pray and turn it loose and know that God is handling it at the speed he knows is best. Never quite praying. God is listening, after all you are one of his children and he loves you. Dusty

The primary purpose of prayer is to praise God and to help us align our wants with God's will. God isn't a genie who will grant you wishes on your command. God wants you to love Him completely, mind, body, and soul. No human can tell you what God will do, or predict which prayers He will answer, and no human can tell you why you got sick.
What the Bible teaches is that God will use all things for the good of people who believe in Him. I know a man who lost a leg to diabetes when he was in his 30's. He's the most peaceful, praiseful man I've ever met. He views his illness as a rare privelage to put aside his pride, and focus on the awesomeness of God. After he did that, he got a kidney and pancreas transplant, and his type 1 diabetes was CURED. The doctors had never seen that happen. But this came after years of suffering, and a transofmation in him from a prideful man to a man who'se focus in life is to praise and honor God.
Another thing that helps me understand my faith is the concept of eternity. Compared to eternity, the few years we spend on earth is pretty insignifianct. Whether we are wealthy, poor, healthy, or sick doesn't mean too much once we're in eternity.
So, I'd say to you, look at life as a constant opportunity for spiritual growth. There are growth opportunities through pain and hardship, and there are growth opportunities through propsperity and good health. Just try to find the good in what's happening to you and pray to God that he helps you grow closer to Him.
Good Luck.

Prayer doesn't work in the classical sense because there is no supernatural invisible buddy to perform a miracle. Any benefit one may derive from prayer comes from inner reflection, not from some outside force. Those who speak of miracles see what they want to believe, what they've been brainwashed to believe. If they examined results with vs. without prayer they would be shocked to discover the truth and, I'm guessing, would deny what they saw when it contradicted their preconceived notions. Rather than looking objectively at reality they prefer to maintain their spoon-fed belief structure. It's easier for them to let others tell them what to believe.

I am sorry that you've never received a Healing. I have, and I have seen Healing with my own eyes. I cannot possibly tell you why you've never received a Healing, but I have also had times when I did not receive my Healing, while others around me were. Do I understand ? No. But God is God, and God Wills to do what God Wills to do.

God isn't Santa Claus. Our prayers need to be in line with His will. All prayers that are in line with His Will will be answered. Sometimes His answer to a prayer is "No" and sometimes it's "Not Yet". Just like a parent tells a child "no" because that's the best thing for the child, God does the same thing. He's sees so much more about our lives than we do. We have to trust that He knows best. After all, He created us.

Try not praying. It works very well.
When I was about 28, my doctor thought I might have testicular cancer. I had to make an an appointment to have some tests done. Before the tests, I spent a lot of time not praying. Miraculously, I did not have cancer.

It is your unbelief that causes prayers not to be answered. It is lack of forgiveness in your life that causes you to rely on resources other than God for your healing. Expect a miracle, get a miracle. Cynics rarely enjoy the love that God has to offer.
